My Grandpa Passed Away on Sunday morning

Post by disneyboy20022 »

let me cut to the chase..... my 91 year old Grandpa died but he went peacefully and I witnessed his last peaceful breath.....and He left a farm behind that my Dad (his only son) inherited....and it's 110 acres.... out in the middle of no where....basicly its near Reno IL the town where he lives in is on the outskirts of Sorento....IL (no I am not joking there is a Reno IL as well as a Pacahontas IL which are both real close to where I live...

He also has been on Hospice for the past two weeks at his home...He was very aware of what was going on and he had his mind until the last breath....he didn't want to go the doctor which we respected that....

The Last time I had a Grandpa die was 16 years ago....and My Grandpa who was 91 who died on Sunday it was 12 years ago and one week to the day that his Wife died....my Dad's Mom....in a horrific way....she died in a house fire and that was a very tragic day for my family.....So it was easier and under better circumstances that my 91 year old Grandpa died at home....as opposed to being in the house and in a fire.....

Nevertheless I would like you all to keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers...as the arrangements of the cremation and burial of them is on Saturday...

.They had an urn that you could put the ashes of your loved one in a working clock.......I wonder if there is a clock urn that is a Kuckoo Clock for the crazy person in their family...but my dad got straight and to the point....we are going to bury this urn...not keep it on the shelf...our cat's might knock and us having to tell people....yep...Alley Cat broke Grandpa.....although the clcok one....I guess if someone always wanted to be looked up upon as Father Time....I guess that's a good route to go...

So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandfather. You're fortunate that you were able to be there with him when he passed and that he was in peace as he did so. 91 years is a long life--quite an accomplishment!--but still always difficult to lose someone nonetheless. My prayers are with you and your family.

I'm so sorry, may God have mercy on his soul. :(

I was very close to my great-grandmother, and the day she passed away (3 months ago), I didn't feel grief, I was just shocked.

A few days later, I was walking after midnight to to the filling station (which has a Burger King that opens 24/7 here), and I passed her house, when I got inside her room, I felt that she was still in there, but she wasn't and at that moment I realised that there's no chance on earth that I'd ever see here again, and I began to hurt real bad, and I hardly ever do. (Thank God, nobody was in that house to see me ! lol)

No Matter whether your christian, Muslim, Jewish, Gothic,,,etc....We never really lose our loved ones...because no matter what religion we believe in..our loved ones will always be in our hearts and the memories we spend with them will never leave us.....They're teachings that they teach us lives on and is hopefully and usually passed down....There is only one thing certain in Life....we are Born and more certainly we die...Death is a part of life....sometimes I Feel people look at death as a grim thing....and some cases are...such as an unexpected death or someone who dies young whether it's expected or a terrible surprise ......but when it's someone who's 91 such as my Grandpa....That's an age not a lot of people live to......

.He would have been 92 in May of this year....

I'm so sorry to hear about your grampa, disneyboy. I'm glad that you have the outlook on death that you have- it might make healing somewhat more easy.

I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am sorry for your loss. At least your grandfather lived a full life. I lost my grandfather when I was five years old.
