Finding Nemo & Lion King

Post by Tony »

Regarding the Australian R4 editions of these movies...

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the region 1 DVD's and the Region 4 DVD's for Finding Nemo and the soon to be released Lion King ?

Finding nemo dosn't have a 4:3 version in region 4. I think it has a DTS-track too.

That's right - R4 Nemo is widescreen only and has the DTS track.

The michaeldvd review is here:

It confirms the above. And it seems we miss out on the trailers, but that's no big loss.

Lion King specs are here:

I'm not sure how they measure up with the US ones...

I have the Brazilian (which is also Region 4) "Finding Nemo", and I think it is even better than the American edition. It's much better only having the widescreen version and [almost] all the extras on the second disc.

As for "The Lion King", I bough the region 1 because of the "Collector's Gift Set", but the DVD itself is also better in region 4, since it has a DTS track.

Thanks everyone.... For once, it seems like I will be okay buying the R4 versions....

I guess The Lion King will also have the cardboard cover case as Finding Nemo did, but I guess I will have to wait until next month too see !

I want just to remeber, although the brazilian releases be 1 and 4, it are very diferent from australia ou USA releases.

frist, becaus the dvds here in brazil are all NTSC (so it is not the standard encoding for australiam that is PAL) and it are not the same material than the US release (for example the dts track in our release)

OK

Yes, but in the case of "Nemo" and "Lion King", they aren't.
