As some of you may know I recently experience the worst ear clogging in all my life, with one ear basically shut down while the other was slowly closing up. The problem was I had accumulated a lot of ear wax and they need to remove it using hot water pressure.
My folks believe the reason it got so bad was because of my ear plugs.
See, I am an extremely light sleeper. Even the smallest noise wakes me up at night. And I happen to live in a noisy part of town. My cat crying at night, the garbage truck, the bells ringing and the next door neighbor waking up early in the morning to fight with her nephews and nieces. All of these make me anxious. I HAVE to sleep with my ear plugs or else I go nuts thanks to all the noise.
I use these small, foam ear plugs (the kind used by factory workers when working on very noisy areas) that are soft and mold into the shape of your ear. These have been a blessing.
They suspect that since I use them heavily they might create ear wax build up, hardens it and blocks it.
The thing is that I've been using ear plugs for YEARS now and no issue has arisen. The reason things got worse is because recently I tried cleaning my ears in the worst way possible, hurting them and causing the clogging. Not to mention that people still get their ears clogged, even when they use nothing on them. My nephew doesn't use anything and he has problems with ear infections.
So I ask you guys, have you heard of ear plugs creating ear wax build up, leading up to clogging?
