The Year with Another Sequel: A Miser Brothers Christmas

Post by JiminyCrick91 »

I saw the 25 days schedules but this never caught my eye. Has anybody heard about this?

Apparently, Saturday night at 8 on ABC family (Dec. 22 for YTV in Canada) a brand new sequel to the Rankin Bass classic 'The Year Without Santa Claus' called 'A Miser Brothers Christmas'.

The animation looks awful but Mickey Rooney and George S. Irving are said to be returning as Santa and Heat Miser respectively, so let's hope for something not awful and perhaps even good.....Hope.

Yeesh.

I like "The Year Without a Santa Claus" if only for Heat Miser and Snow Miser and their delightfully imaginative song-and-dance routines, but the rest is poorly plotted treacle, much like... well, pretty much any Rankin-Bass Christmas special, save for maybe "Rudolph". I can't imagine that this could be good at all, despite my miser affinity.

Also, has anyone else ever noticed this?

Has anyone else ever considered that perhaps Senator Kerry and the Snow Miser are in fact THE SAME PERSON?! Think about it! Have you ever seen Snow Miser appear in the Senate chambers, or John Kerry dance for Mrs. Claus with several miniature versions of himself? NO! There is only one possible explanation for this- they are the same individual.

To get conclusive proof, I'm going to wait until there is a snow storm in Boston, then go to John Kerry's house in Beacon Hill. I expect to see him wearing a blue suit and hat, covered in icicles, dancing on top of his roof singing "I'm Mr. Blue Party" at the top of his lungs.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

that is funny funny....

I can just imagine it now....

a John Kerry singing Blue party and a Dick Cheyney with an orange afro saying he is Mr. red party.... :P That Heat Miser and Snow Miser song should be the politics as we know today....Republicans throwing fire ball comments at the Democrats...and Democrats throwing sudden chills that freeze your words to the Republicans :P

Anyway I think (at least in my opinion) this will be better than The Year without a Santa Claus Live Action Remake....although even then I thought it what was most funny about it was how the re-did heat miser and snow miser...that casting was good and John GoodMan as Santa was good...although he was the voice of Santa in goodtime's Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Animated (theatrical) movie with a snow queen voiced by Whoopi Goldberg...that's it they should've made Whoopi Goldberg in the live action Year without a Santa Claus Mother Nature!! that would've been funny

I think this is more a spin-off than a sequel to the original...I am just glad it's a what appears to me classic Rankin Bass style of cartoons such as original Rudolph rather than Rudolph and the Isle of Misfit toys sequel which had a classic tale to it only thing it was CGI....

It would have to be. I think it would be impossible to make a movie worse than that remake...

I watched and liked it, i understand peoples reservations about it but i think Heat and Snow Miser more than made up for any weak points...

There's another original on Saturday called Christmas in Wonderland.. It has Patrick Swayze in it so it caught my attention....
