My ear is clogged!

Post by pap64 »

Ugh! This is very annoying! Last night I was cleaning out my left ear. When I finished a big pocket of air got it and made itself comfortable. In other words, my ear got clogged in the worst way possible. So I can barely hear and the whistling doesn't stop.

For the record, I tried EVERY home remedy, including holding my breath and blowing my nose. The clogging seems to be very deep.

Luckily, it doesn't hurt, its just very annoying. I am going to the doctor tomorrow and see what he can do.

If you guys know any other remedies let me know.

Have you tried pouring a small amount of hydrogen peroxide in it? That always helps me out.

Either use an eye dropper or the cap of the bottle, lay on your side (with the bad ear facing up of course), let the liquid settle in your ear until the bubbling/fizzing stops, then sit up and let it drain.

This happens to me all the time. I hate it so much. There will be some mornings when I just wake up and can't hear out of one ear. Typically, I go to the doctor, and either get my ears flushed or suctioned out, which is the most uncomfortably satisfying feeling ever. Then it's followed up by me being repulsed by the plug of wax that drops from my ear.

There's also this plastic bulb I have you can fill with water, stick in your ear, and flush it out yourself. It's not as good as going to a doctor, but it works in a pinch when it's driving you mad.

Yikes, the only time it didn't help me I found out my ear was actually swollen shut. :(

Good luck with the doctor, I'm sure he'll get you back in shape. :)

This has happened to me a few times, and I feel for you! It's extrememly annoying! I expect when you go to the doctor, they will use their special instrument to clean it out, and boy will you feel satisfied once they do! Afterwards you can hear the plumbing in the walls! I swear I could have heard a peice of felt touching a cotton ball a mile away!

Yeah, it must be an infection.

I don't know if he will do a good job of it, though. I think he's just give me some antibiotics and medicine.

I'll be surprised if he does clean my ears out...

Well, got back from the doctor's. Apparently its much worse than I expected. My ears are filled to the brim with wax. Worst of all, it hardened. It was so bad that the doctor gave me some ear drops before he cleaned my ears because if he did it would hurt me.

This would certainly explain all those times in which people would talk to me and all I heard were mumbles... :\

MY EARS ARE CLEAN!

After a quick, ten minute cleaning process my ears are better than ever. Man, you would NEVER believe how much junk there was in my ears! It scared me.

Luckily, they were removed easily.
