Goonies and Gremlins on Blu Ray 2009 Oh My

Post by disneyboy20022 »

And our studio sources have confirmed that Warner Home Video is getting ready to bow a Gremlins: 25th Anniversary Edition Special Edition Blu-ray in sometime in early 2009 as well. We're also told that a similar edition of The Goonies is not far behind. (The Goonies is already available in Japan - it streeted there in October).

I loooove Gremlins so much... even though I don't have Blu-ray player I might get it... for when (or if >_>) I do get a Blu-ray player lol.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I LOVE Goonies! I already have the DVD, but a Blu Ray has so many possibilities. I could see pop up trivia, little known information, etc, etc.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Can't wait for The Goonies, wonder why Warner did a region- free version earlier this year, but only in the UK and Japan, without anything over here. I was contemplating having it imported, but I'll wait and see. Hopefully they'll release both The Goonies and Gremlins in those collector, book cases.

The Goonies will apparently include audio commentary with director Richard Donner and select members of the cast (with "hidden video treasures"), The Making of The Goonies featurette, outtakes, the theatrical trailer and Cyndi Lauper's The Goonies 'R' Good Enough music video. Audio for both will be Dolby TrueHD 5.1

I imported "The Goonies" Blu-ray from the UK. It's the exact same package as the previous DVD edition but the movie itself looks fabulous in full 1080p.

Well folks... it looks like your local Target store is going to have a couple of pretty cool and exclusive Warner Home Video Blu-ray titles on Tuesday (9/29): Gremlins (SRP $22.99) and a BD + DVD/Blu-case version of The Wizard of Oz (SRP $34.99, with no swag). These will only be available at Target for a limited time (likely a few months), after which we assume they'll be available everywhere. Proof will be available in Target's weekly newspaper circular this Sunday. We're also hearing (consider this Rumor Mill-worthy) that Target will have another pair of exclusives on 11/17: Gone with the Wind (in a similar BD + DVD/Blu-case configuration, sans all the big box swag) and Goonies. We'll confirm the latter as soon as we can.

cool! I wonder if Gremlins will have any cool Hi-def bonus features!

(I've never been crazy about that cover though, I wish they could've used the cooler one with Stripe on it or something).

Gremlins has the same bonus features as the SE DVD released some years ago. There are no blu-ray exclusives.

Yeah I just read a review on it, that's a shame.
