Lol the way you guys talk about Turkeys makes me want to go to Subway right now !
Me and my family a rather quiet day today.
My parents went to a breakfast at Church. I would have gone, but I went to bed very late, plus I had taken my allergy medicine which knocks me out really badly, so it would have been a struggle to get out of bed on time.
After watching the parade (a tradition at my house), I went with my sister and her family to my aunt's Thanksgiving dinner/party. It was a bittersweet event. My uncle died last May of a heart attack and he was the jolly, big guy of the party. Going there and not hearing his loud laughs put a damper on things. But everyone was very supportive towards my aunt and the mood was a good one.
My sister, however, hated the whole thing. simply because she refused to join any groups at the party. It annoyed me because my aunt herself invited us to the party and they were very kind. In fact, she wanted to leave the minute they stopped eating! I said to leave much later because it would leave a bad impression if we ate and run, not showing any social interaction.
Whatever, my sister has severe issues. I still had a good day. It was quiet, but I rather have a quiet Thanksgiving than one filled with family emergencies.
The food was good, the evening was great (sunny, but not too hot) and it was all very warm. I'm happy.
