The most epic Rick Roll...ever?

Post by pap64 »

I just got Rick Rolled in perhaps the most surprising way ever...

I was watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade when the Cartoon Network/Foster's home for imaginary friends float rolls by. The announcer said that there would be a special musical surprise.

The characters start to sing when all of a sudden the song stops...And "Never gonna give you up" starts playing. Yes, Macy's and Cartoon Network Rick Rolls everyone in New York watching the parade. But that's not all. Can you guess who did the Rick Rolling? RICK ASTLEY HIMSELF!

He sang the song, but was obviously lip syncing (sp?).

This is officially my favorite Macy's Parade moment ever. I have the parade on my DVR. I'll record it and post it here (I promise I won't Rick Roll anyone, since the video is essentially a national Rick Roll).

I was half asleep watching this when it happened. I almost fell off the couch. Best Rick Roll in a very long time. Unfortunately no one else here knew what Rickrolling was...

The best part is that I can imagine the families that were scratching their heads while everyone that got the joke were laughing their butts off.

It just surprised me that Macy's and Cartoon Network would dare to Rick Roll a big audience like that.

This year's parade was full of surprises. There was the singer that nearly fell off the float when it took off, and the balloon that crashed into the announcer's booth. They SCREAMED when it happened! I got worried at first, but they were laughing like crazy afterwards.

But the Rick Roll was the best moment of the bunch.

EDIT: HERE'S THE MOMENT (FOR REAL!)

The rickroll fad is getting boring and pathetic. It was great when it first happen but when people outside the internet try attempt it, it's fail.

Yeah I hate to admit, but the RickRoll thing has become a complete overkill...especially on Youtube. I cant even enjoy the original song anymore without thinking about the song's association with Internet nerds.

Hopefully for April Fools 2009 Youtube will come up with something more creative but still hilarious, but I assume that we'll just have the same issue we have with RickRoll this year.
