Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Post by DisneyFreak5282 »

I own the 3 disc collector's edition of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and disc 1 (which is the film) got badly scratched. If I buy the standard 1 disc version is that the same thing as disc 1 of the 3 disc CE? Just wondering because it will be on sale on Black Friday for $8.98 at Target.

Well Disc 1 has the Widescreen presentation of both the theatrical AND unrated version of the movie. Disc 2 has bonus features like Deleted Scenes, "Crime Scene" (alternate scenes), "Video Diaries" (Behind the scenes), Gag Reel, Cinemax's Final Cut: Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Cinemax's Making-Of), "Drunk-O-Rama" (all the scenes where people are drunk in 3 minutes), "Sex-O-Rama" (all the sex scenes in 3 minutes), and things like that. Disc 3 is the Digital Copy. I have a feeling that the Digital Copy will eventually be discontinued because it only comes in a paper sleeve and shoved in the case (which is a standard double disc case), and only the slipcover mentions the digital copy and a third disc.

You can get all editions of the movie (single disc Fullscreen, single disc Widescreen, or 3 disc CE) at FYE for $12.99, OR you can get the movie (or any other movie on sale for $12.99) along with another one (on sale for $12.99) for $20.

My question is why would anyone want this movie? I have tried to watch it three different times and shut it off, because it wasn't funny and it didn't have any plot that had a hook in it to make me want to watch it.

In the theater, I got a great power nap sleeping through over half of the movie.

Have not found one person who could give the definitive answer as to why they like this movie except, "I like the stars in it"!! There needs to be much more to watching a movie than just the 'stars' in it. It needs to have some semblance of a story to go along with it. I am so sorry, but this isn't that great a movie.

:)

Maybe you should watch it entirely before you complain about a lack of story.

There's a very sweet and straightforward story about breaking up and finding love again in FSM. I thought it was a nice balance between romance and raunchy comic scenes.

I also thought the performances by Jason Segel and Mila Kunis were both funny and touching.

I thought it was much better than the over-hyped Knocked Up.

Roeper rated it as one of the top 50 comedies in the history of movies when he reviewed it on At The Movies so in spite of dvdjunkie's review (based on watching half of the movie) I'd say it is one to be watched at least once since an actual viable critic has found it to be the one thing a comedy is supposed to be. Funny.
