Baby Names

Post by jeremy88 »

Okay, I'm no where near having children of my own yet, but yesterday my sister and I were talking about our favorite names.

Personally I like the name David Rey. David after King David, and then the middle name being "Rey" which is the spanish word for king.

And for a girls name, being the Disney fan that I am, I wan't her name to be related to a Disney Princess. My first would be Ella as in Cinderella and a middle name being Rose, after Briar Rose.

So I hope if I have kids one day, there names can be David Rey and Ella Rose.

Whats your favorite?

Years ago, I had a list of names that I like (I was bored one day, lol), but for the past year or two, I've narrowed it down to 5 names. Yes, I know that they kind of rhyme and whatnot, but I like them. They are:

Haley (I wrote a story when I was 10 called "Hailey", and I've liked the name ever since)

Kaley (There's a road in Orlando named Kaley Ave., and I just like the name!)

Riley (My friend's hamster, who has since passed away, was named Riley, and I was very fond of her. I just like the name, too.)

Miley (I wouldn't say that this is because of Miley Cyrus, even though I am a fan, but it's a cool name.)

Milo (Partly because of Milo Thatch, I guess...it's a cool name, yet again.)

I've always liked for girls:
Josephine (just because I could call my daughter Josie)
Emma
Daisy (although I can't imagine someone at 50 with the name Daisy, so more like a nickname)
Caroline
Jamie

for boys:
Michael
Max
Phillip

and I can't think of more right now.

For girls:
Rainbow Sunshine
Cootie Face

For boys:
Jet Rocket
Bucket Head

Pink elephant to the first person who identifies what children's book series those names are from. ;)

In all seriousness, though, I think I'd probably name my kids Jake and Maggie (ensuring that the missus agrees). And no, I did not realize there's already a pair of Jake & Maggie siblings (Gyllenhaal) when I decided on the names. For years I've often used them as "default" names for characters in stories I've written, then give them a real name later. But in some cases, the Jake & Maggie sticks, so I've got a few stories where the main characters are Jake and Maggie, even if it's not the *same* Jake and Maggie.

For boys:

Buff McMan Huge
Chad Skullcrusher
Joe Diehard

Just kidding.

I actually think it would be nice if someone named their kid Eilonwy. Regardless of if you get the reference it's still pretty.
