Some Disney Halloween treats.......

Post by disneyfella »

I got a bit bored this evening and found myself surfing YouTube and watching all sorts of Halloween Disney stuff that was posted. I thought I'd share some with my friends here and hoped maybe others could post their favorite Halloween clips. I know I'm a few hours early, but Happy Halloween everyone!

1. "A Disney Channel Halloween" -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8ruvW-r ... re=related

This clip is from The Disney Channel in 1990. The part of this clip that I'm referring to is the Halloween Lineup. Watch the clip from 3:56 to 5:28. This brought back a TON of memories......does anyone else remember 'The Halloween That Almost Wasn't"?

2. "Mr. Boogedy" -

Of course no Disney Halloween would be complete without a bit of 'boogedy-boogedy-boo'. Of course Disney has seen fit to deprive everyone of this awesome Halloween film for over 15 years!! I remember dressing up as Casper one year for Halloween. We came back from trick or treating and my white makeup was starting to run all over my face from sweating in that costume (it was an old cotton one my brother wore a few years before me....and we're talking like around 1988); and I vividly remember sitting down and watching the end of Mr. Boogedy. The whole vaccuum scene at the end terrified me. I had nightmares and can still remember Boogedy's pock-marked face so completely! For some reason, "Boogedy" and "Fuzzbucket" both gave me nightmares as a kid.....well that and "The Peanut Butter Solution". Lol!

3. "Trick or Treat" -

This Donald Duck cartoon is one of my favorites, but I remember a bunch of this animation as a kid from commercials and all kinds of stuff on The Disney Channel (when they used to use montages of clips from their vault during commercial breaks). Anyway, I love the song and wish Disney would release it on CD or iTunes one day!

4. "Disney's Halloween Treat" -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYXp4kka ... re=related

This program is chock full of all kinds of Halloween goodies! I remember getting home late from a long cold night of trick-or-treating and dumping my bag of candy all over the living room floor with my brothers and sisters, and turning on The Disney Channel to watch this program as we traded our candy (and ate a bunch too!).

I recorded DTV Monster hits a long time ago - Monster Mash, Thriller, oh man I remember how much fun that was. My VCRs are unreliable so I don't dare try to watch the old tape.

I wish they'd release Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy on DVD.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I know it's not the thread but thank you for the first link. I loved the late 80's/early 90's version of the MMC with the Party and especially Brandy; I had such a crush on her. I'm bummed that I missed The Party in concert when I was younger.

The Halloween stuff was fun too but not in the same way.

Trick or Treat is one of my favorite Donald Duck cartoons. I remember seeing it on Disney's Halloween Treat (Which I taped a long time ago, then lost the tape  )
