Fantasia/Fantasia2000

Post by PatrickvD »

hey everyone,

I have a question. I've heard that both the Fantasia movies are going into the vault at the end of January. Now I live in Holland and I want to order the UK editions. Now my question is if the UK editions are in any way different from the other region2 versions or region1. I saw the region1 cover for Fantasia said "unedited". How is that with the UK one?

Also, is the anthology set worth buying? and how is it packed? Is it like a boxset with the dvd's in seperate dvd cases? I know, its a lot of questions lol. :D

thanks in advance

The UK releases are missing the commentaries and the "making of" documentaries. All in all this adds up to about 10 hours of content! I'd go for the R1 anthology before it disappears.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

It is also worth noting that the international releases of "Fantasia" is the 1990 version, which doesn't include the on-camera introductions of Deems Taylor. The international DVD versions are 117 minutes long, while the American one is 125 minutes long.
No doubt, get the American "Fantasia Anthology" - though I'm glad to have both versions.
