What Disney DVDs do you want released?

Post by GoofyGoofyGoofy »

For me, a boxset of the two Goofy movies similar to the boxset for Mulan I and II (except with better artwork). It should have better bonus features (get rid of that quiz too) and both movies should be in widescreen.

I'm surprised this isn't already loaded with posts for Song of the South, but maybe people are tired of requesting that one already.

Off the top of my head, besides that one, I'd like to see some sort of Disney '80's/'90's TV set, possibly a treasures set, with stuff like Fluppy Dogs, Soccermania, Totally Minnie, Mickey's 60th, Muppets at Walt Disney World, and the Disneyland anniversary that included flashback stories from Ernest and Cheers' Woody character when they were kids visiting Disneyland (cannot seem to remember the title of this program). Could be forgetting something for that set idea.

Also want to see a second Rarities set to include Scrooge McDuck and Money, Dad, Can I Borrow the Car, It's Tough to Be a Bird, the Jiminy Cricket and What Should I Do shorts, the Chip 'n' Dale shorts (if they're not on the Donald 4 set), and anything else that would fit here. Maybe some Ludwig Von Drake episodes of the anthology show, definitely the Moby Duck episode. The new Goofy short, Destino, and the other shorts that haven't been in the Treasures sets would work too.

* Song of the South
* Fluppy Dogs

* Stuck in the Suburbs
* the Zenon movies
* the educational films
* Mother Goose Rock 'N Rhyme

I'm sure that there are more, but that's it off the top of my head.

I agree, I'd love to get the Halloween DTV special! Maybe a double feature with Disney's Halloween Treat? And I forgot to mention Winnie the Pooh Discovers the Seasons, not to mention the new Goofy short and a version of Mickey Mouse's Runaway Brain that has the audio in sync.

As for Mathmagic Land, I expect it to be on the next Donald Treasures set. I only hope the set will include "Your Host, Donald Duck" and "This Is Your Life, Donald Duck" too.

Ah, yes, Mother Goose Rock 'n' Rhyme! Ha, that's hilarious! And I agree about the Zenon films too. Also would like 13th Year and maybe a couple others. I haven't seen Stuck in the Suburbs, but it stars Danielle Panabaker, doesn't it? In that case, I do want it, ha.

Oh, and I nearly forgot one of the most important ones! "My Date With the President's Daughter!"

And, with Halloween coming up, what about Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy? And I wonder who holds the rights for The Midnight Hour. I believe it WAS a ABC TV movie. It was available on DVD for a while, but I missed it, and now it fetches HIGH prices on Ebay. I also wonder who holds the rights for the Chuck Jones Raggedy Ann holiday specials that used to run on Disney, and also "The Halloween That Almost Wasn't", which used to run on the Disney Channel also. But, if I really thought hard, I could come up with a ton of stuff from the Disney Channel and the anthology shows throughout the decades that I'd like to get on DVD.

Yes, yes and again YES!!!

Why has Disney still not clued in to these TV specials popularity? Every year it ends up on youtube and every year it gets taken down. I'm really surprised it isn't even a DMC exclusive by now.

I definitely would like to see the Treasures collections pay some attention to Disney World. In fact, they could and should do a whole set on EPCOT.

Of course, I can still think of stuff to make another Disneyland set, like Disneyland Showtime and the anniversary special I mentioned before...

And Ludwig definitely needs a set or collection of some kind.

They have that on iTunes, you know. It'd only be worth a DVD release if the DVD included other Goofy shorts.

Well, I think most of us are DVD collectors and aren't satisfied with just iTunes versions. However, none of us expect it to be alone on a disc.

Incidentally, one thing that worries me about the upcoming Donald Treasures set is that they say it will include some of his Mouseworks/House of Mouse shorts. I would rather they use that space for the anthology episodes I mentioned (This is Your Life and Your Host), and I'll be really annoyed if we get Mouseworks shorts and NOT those anthology episodes. I want the Mouseworks shorts, but would rather get them in season sets of House of Mouse and/or Mouseworks (House of Mouse if I had to choose, because I love all the club scenes in that show).

I completely agree. A whole release could be done just on EPCOT, including how it differs from Walt's original concept as an actual city (although some of this is already on the Tomorrowland Treasure), how the countries were chosen, the international cast members, the imagineers' process and inspiration for the design of the park, how the park (especially Future World) has evolved over the years, behind the scenes at the horticulture area at The Land, etc, etc. Well, that's just off the top of my head. But Figment would have to be in it somewhere, too. :)

And, yes, I'll take more Disneyland stuff, too!

True. I guess I'd like to see it as an extra on some release or as part of a new Goofy themed release (especially since I missed out on the popular Goofy Treasure).

Ha, Figment should be a host of it somehow! With the same voice he used to have! In fact, I'd say Figment and Dreamfinder, if Dreamfinder was still around.

Yeah, that one show about EPCOT's original plan was on the Tomorrowland set, and it'd be weird not to double dip that one, though of course I'd rather the space be used for new stuff. What I'd definitely want/expect on such a set is the opening special with Danny Kaye and Drew Barrymore, Captain Eo (preferably with 3D version and glasses), and maybe the Muppets At Walt Disney World, which could fit in with any set on Disney World. I could be forgetting something. Yes, a Secrets, Stories, and Magic documentary would be great too, and maybe the original soundtrack of EPCOT could be included somehow! So hard to get the old CD with all those songs (I've been wanting it so badly, I just have it on cassette)! Yeah, FutureWorld has changed so much. Sadly, I believe most of the changes have lessened its magic. At least the idea of Nemo added to the Living Seas sounds cool. Can't wait to experience that.

Oh, another special that comes to mind is "Follow Us... To Walt Disney World" for a WDW set idea. When they ran the Disney anthology show on Disney Channel, they showed a lot of great shows like that which I'd love to have. the best of some of those old souvenir videos they used to sell would be great too. I found a GREAT one at a Flea Market once from EPCOT. So cool, from EPCOT's fantastic early years.

Of course, I don't think anybody in their right mind would buy a single DVD with just a 6-7 minute short on it. But do you any of you have it? It's really great - has a few Disney references in it too (Goofy's TV is of the Dopey Digital brand and he has a picture of Walt on his bookself before he knocks everything off to set up his home theater).

Yeah, the opening special should definitely be included and Captain EO in 3-D would be really fun! 8)

Nope, I've only seen stills from it and of course heard it was great. I would love to see those references. I should just download it from iTunes (I'm not really into downloading stuff :oops: ). It should have been included on the National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets release, but oh well.
