Marriage proposals at the Disney theme parks

Post by pap64 »

Since the Disney theme parks are so cherished its no surprise that people pick them to celebrate once in a lifetime events, like weddings...and deaths (for those that don't get it, Google "Throwing ashes at Disneyland").

While looking at random character interaction videos I found some very cute, funny and even heart warming proposals done at either Disneyland or Disney World.

So I ask you, anyone here lucky enough to have proposed/been proposed to at any of the parks? If not, would you?

I would SO do it if I have the chance. I am single, but if destiny rewards with someone that I truly love and she loves me back I will make the proposal special. It would be expensive, but will SO totally be worth it.

Here are the videos I was telling you about:
Disneyland Fantasy Faire Proposal (this is my favorite video because Belle's just as shocked as the woman!)
Mickey witnessed something magical!
Proposal at Splash Mountain
Wedding proposal at the Beauty and the Beast pre-show
Proposal at Animal Kingdom (what's so great about this one is that the man proposed to her on the exact, same spot they met)
Disney Club 33 proposal (Don't know if Mickey and Pluto knew about it or were there to mess around :p)

After seeing these videos there is NO chance that I would miss out on a proposal like that. One day, when the time is right, I will most definitely be doing it at Disney World.

One thing I realized about this is that it takes A LOT of planning to create a Disney proposal.

I mean, its beautiful, magical and romantic when the girl says yes. But what if she says no? The vacation is pretty much ruined and hearts are broken! Not to mention embarrassing since people WILL see it.

So a word of advice: If you wish to propose to someone at the parks PLEASE make sure the girl is comfortable with the idea of marriage.

I would LOVE to do this, and even have a Disney wedding (even ordered the free DVD), but I'm not going to hold my breath that I'm going to meet Miss Right. When I was little, I thought I'd get married much younger than I am now. Now, I don't even know if I want to, because women of my "type" are rarely single.

Of course, to do this, it'd be best if the girl was as big a Disney fan as you, and I have never even met another major Disney fan in person before.
