Your Most Treasured Object

Post by Beast_enchantment »

What is your most treasured object/item that you own?
Mine is a silver pinky ring that my mother gave to me in a celtic style - she's Gaelic at heart :)
It's old and slightly bent out of shape but it means alot to me and would never trade it for anything.

What about you guys?

I can't really think of anything that I truly treasure.

I treasure all of my Possessions really, simply because I value them (hence why I like to keep them all well looked after) but other than that I can't actually think of anything that's been given to me with any "real" sentimental value like a timeless family antique or anything like that. I guess if anything, it would be family photos as they capture precious memories over the years and are irreplaceable.

I know what you mean. I was looking through an old album about an hour ago full of 50s black and white photographs depicting my grandad and my recently late grandma who died in June - I got abit upset as you do. But it's still early days I guess and I love looking through Photos. Like you said they capture precious memories.

no it's fine, I just never got to tell her how sorry I was for something that now seems so trivial.

One mans junk is anothers treasure :)

Mine would be a pair of Angel pins both have a tiny green emerald (not sure if it's real emerald or not) whenever my Mom had to go away on buisness trips she'd take one Pin and I'd keep the other and when she'd come back we'd put our pins together :)

Also, my Scrapbook I've made with my own two hands, well I didn't make the book part just all the pages inside :P It's unfinished and never will be but I always keep adding pages in when I have the money to buy everything.

Same with me. I'm rarely away from her so I couldn't do that. It just would work, maybe when she goes upstairs and I'm downstairs  (does that count?)

I know I mentioned this before in the other thread, but my one treasured possession is a necklace with a replica of an ancient Greek coin depicting Apollo. It just holds a lot of sentimental value for me since my great aunt and uncle bought to for me on their trip to Greece because they know how much I'm fascinated by Apollo and the stories about him.

I guess my most sentimental possession is my stuffed dog Bernie that I got about 10 years ago for Christmas.

As far as material possessions, right now I'm pretty attached to my Friends Complete Series DVD set. It cost nearly 200 dollars and there's 40 DVDs so I'm deathly afraid of one getting ruined.

I've got a really funny--or sad--story, depending on your viewpoint. A couple of years ago, we had some truly horrific windstorms, which ripped through our neighborhood over the period of four days, during which our power was knocked out and, thanks to extensive floods, we were cut off from major shopping centers. We lived on peanut butter sandwiches and warm orange juice.

Three weeks after that storm, we received word that another severe windstom was one it's way, which was perhaps more powerful than the last one. Grabbed my suitcases and packed up all my favourite DVDs, and moved them to the "safety" of the street-level garage (just in case the roof of my bedroom blew off with the wind). Needless to say, I stayed up until one o'clock in the morning, listening for the slightest gust of wind. Nothing happened! We never got that storm.

My parents still ball me out about my attempt to save my DVD collection. It's pretty funny, lol.
I'm just valentine candy and boxing-gloves!

I'm not seriously attached to any object, but what I care about most are:

- My grandmother's thimbles. She died when I was in Middle School and, as stupid as it seems, they remind me of her.
- The Little Mermaid lithograph that came with the re-release (came from my other grandmother).
- This Snuggles bear that my grandmother gave me (the one who I have the thimbles of). Yes, the Snuggles from the commercials.

I have a couple of things that I treasure most

3 Final Fantasy action figures
a book that Austin Tichenor and Reed Martin of the Reduced Shakespeare Company wrote and signed for me when I went to see a live performance. (funniest show you will ever see in a long time!)
2 photos of me with various members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.
