Do you expect there to be a FOURTH wave of Disney Treasures?
And if so, what would you predict they be? Please everyone, don't make this a wishlist
That could go on forever!

Thanks Jack! Any ideas on a street date and what the MMC treasure might have in terms of content?Jack wrote:It's already confirmed there's going to be a Wave 4 of the Treasures. The rumored sets for that wave are:
The Complete Pluto
Assorted Treasures Set (a compilation of films like "Donald in Mathamagic Land" and "Ben and Me")
Mickey Mouse in Black & White: Volume 2
The Mickey Mouse Club
Supposedly, it's coming in December of this year, seeing as each Wave has been released during that month (except for Wave 3, which was delayed till May for last-minute reasons).
As for what would be on MMC, I would think it would contain all the episodes of the show, but I'm not sure how many episodes there are. If there are more than enough to fit on two discs, than the Wave 4 release would be just the first half or so.
PS: Welcome to forums.

A "Treasures" set of True-Life Adventures would be great, but they would have to be split up in Volume sets. There's no way you could fit all of the True-Life Adventures onto two DVDs, unless they were released as DVD-18s (flipper DVDs).
I think you could make a Treasures set of the Feature-length TLA films, with "The Living Desert", "The Vanishing Prarie' and "The African Lion" on Disc one, and "White Wilderness", "Secrets of Life" and "Jungle Cat" on Disc Two. How you'd be able to fit these as well as all of the TLA shorts in one collection (like "Seal Island" and "Beaver Valley" and "Nature's Half-Acre" and "Prowlers of the Everglades" and "Water Birds" and others) is beyond me.
I think it's more likely we'll see a "Volume 1" of the TLA adventures, followed in 2005 by a "volume 2".
There's also going to be a Volume 2 of the Donald Duck cartoons (which will feature the Duck's best work, in my opinion).
Personally, aside from the TLA sets and the Donald sets, I'd like to see a set of the obscure "People and Places" series, which celebrated diverse world cultures. It would go a long way to neuter the inspid, recurring urban legend that Walt Disney was a racist (thanks, Spike Lee!)

It´s totally impossible that all the shows could be on a set or two.
The first and unique run of the show (between 1955-1959) produced 260 one-hours and 130 half-hours of shows.
What we ever possibly will see on a Treasure set/s is/are some picked parts of these shows - never all the episodes.
For that, they are TOO many.

There have never been any intention to make a Treasure set of the feature lenght films in the True Life Adventure series.
The Treasure set will contain the short subjects in the series.
I also very much wish for a Treaure set of People and Places.
But for my own wishing, not for any proofs of racical terms....

It all depends on how much you compress the material. If you don't care at all about picture quality, you can squeeze 10-12 hours of video onto a single sided, dual layered disc.Ludwig Von Drake wrote:I was wondering how many hours of film can be put onto a DVD.
With more reasonable quality standards, you can normally fit 3 or 4 hours of video on a single sided, dual layered disc. Extra language tracks, DTS sound and other features consume space and will reduce the amount of video you can fit on a disc.

I would like to get
-The complete Donald 2 and 3
-Silly Symphonies 2
-Assorted Cartoons and short films (with all kinds of characters that don't have enough material to fill a whole Treasure by themselves)
-Song of the South (not only the movie, but explanations about it, documentaries, featurettes, the music, the art of, the technology process involved... the theme park versions of its stories and characters...)

I don't see why all Disney Treasures releases have to be 2 disc. I'm sure a three or even four disc set is not out of the question. We'll just have to see what happens if Disney do decide to release content such as Zorro. That said, I'm sure wave 4 will only be 2 discs for now.
Personally, I think they should release a 3 or 4 disc compilation of Disneyland episodes - the live action releases tend to sell less, so additional content will encourage more sales.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
