Disney movies of your chidhood?

I was just wondering everyones Childhood Disney movies. My baby cousin/God daughter was born a few months ago and got me thinking about what her favorite classics will be and how because of me she have access to lots of films. Unlike me who had parents who knew nothing about Disney other than they were good kid movies and bought me whatever was coming out of the vault. Lucky though born in 92 meant i had all the renaissance films and re-releases of classics put away in like middle to late 8o's (ex Cinderella, sleeping beauty) If you could list them in the ones you watched frequently, ones that you rented/watched some times and the one you never saw/ never knew about.

Ones I watched frequently: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and Mulan.

Ones that I rented/watched some times: Bambi, The Three Caballeros, Alice In Wonderland, The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, Pinocchio, The Aristocats.

Ones I never saw/ never knew about: Lady and the Tramp, The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron. [/b]

Thankfully, my mother bought nearly all of the movies while I was still a baby. I think the only one she didn’t was The Black Cauldron. Not that she had a vendetta against the film, I don’t think she even knew it existed until it was released (or re-released?) on VHS when I was around 10. So, I watched all the Disney films pretty regularly and grew up when Aladdin and everything after it were being released.

The ones I watched the most? TLK, TLM, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella and The Sword in the Stone were all being played constantly--all for a particular reason (the magic, mostly).

I think I watched SB, Pocahontas, Bambi, Peter Pan and Snow White the least of all the ones we had. The former two and Lady and the Tramp were my sister's favorites.

The movies we always had since I was really little were Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Robin Hood, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Pete's Dragon, The Little Mermaid, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and The Rescuers Down Under. My parents had taped those ones off of TV or from a rental VHS tape.

The ones that I got growing up (like age 6 onward) on store-bought VHS tapes were: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Alice in Wonderland, The Fox and the Hound, Oliver & Company, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Pocahontas.

I grew up watching Disney movies on TV and some in the theater, like live-action ones of the early-to-mid 1990s (like "Blank Check", the "Mighty Ducks" movies, "101 Dalmatians", etc.) and some random earlier ones (like "The Parent Trap", "The Million-Dollar Duck", etc.)

The animated films that I had not seen in their entirety until I turned 18 (and had money to buy them!) were: all the package films of the 1940s, Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Rescuers (unless I saw this one on TV...?), The Great Mouse Detective, Fantasia 2000, and Treasure Planet (well, I saw this when it came on DVD, when I was 18...I was supposed to see it in the theater, but my uncle took my cousins the day before Thanksgiving, when I thought we were going on Thanksgiving...).

As for the animated films I didn't mention, I had either bought them or saw them on TV as a preteen or a teenager.

My absoulte FAVORITE as a kid was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

That was...until I discovered Peter Pan.

Well since I was a kid that grew up in the early-late 90's I have to say the golden age films, from The Little Mermaid up to The Emperors New Groove, those were the movies that were in my generation, man I was lucky kid lol. But even though those were the Disney movies I saw in the theaters an such, I still watched all of the other classic Disney movies, like Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, 101 Dalmations and so on.

Most of the Disney flicks I watched on VHS in my childhood were live-action ones taped off TV. I think the Jungle Book was the only one we actually had on commercial VHS until 1990 or '91 came around. I was addicted to the taped ones, though, and watched them all the time:

My parents were huge into Disney and, luckily, raised me on it. I had Mickey Mouse everything in all of my home videos, and have received Disney-themed gifts throughout the majority of my childhood. I do know (and remember) that my favorite back then was/still is The Little Mermaid. I also remember being big into 101 Dalmations, but I'm not so much anymore. Now my second is probably either Alice in Wonderland or Sleeping Beauty, I can't decide. I also love(d) The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. So those would be my top five now, with Little Mermaid being number one still.

Those three movies I saw in elementary school. Fantasia was the first movie I saw at a theatre and I was quite young. The other two I saw in school in the old movie reels. All three films I saw before reaching the age of 10.

I saw some of the films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinnochio, and Jungle Book when they used to be re-released in theaters. I think I saw 101 Dalmatians when the public library had a children's film afternoon in the summertime. Seeing a Disney film was always a special experience.

We never owned any of the films, but I was still familiar with a lot of the Disney stories and what the characters looked like from storybooks. Despite not seeing a lot of the films growing up, my family still loved Disney. Growing up, we made two trips to Disneyland and one to Disney World.

Anyway, it wasn't until I started to buy DVDs a few years ago that I saw many of the Disney films for the first time. It's been fun to finally see so many of these films.

Since I am the resident 'cantankerous old fart' here at the forums I can tell you that I have seen each and every Disney theatrical film in the theater. I was born on the snack bar floor of my parents movie theater so I was introduced to movies at a very young age.

We premiered "Song of the South" at our theater when I was almost 7 years old. I remember "So Dear To My Heart", and all the Disney animated films along with a bunch of original Disney cartoons with Mickey, Donald and Goofy.

Some of my favorite Disney films include, "Fantasia", "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs", "Cinderella", "Lady and the Tramp", and "Sleeping Beauty". Later releases that have become favorites to watch include "The Monkey's Uncle", "Old Yeller", "Savage Sam" (sequel to 'Old Yeller), "The Rocketeer", "The Fox and the Hound", and, most recently "Enchanted".

When I worked at Disneyland as a projectionist in the Mickey Mouse Club Theater in Fantasyland, I remember showing all sorts of "special" editions of Disney shorts and things.

Memories of Disney linger to this day. As I remember Disneyland when it was just a big dug-out hole in the ground all the way to its opening festivities, and getting excited about going to the Park the very first time.

Disney movies have played a very instrumental part in my life, and my grandkids are learning from 'grandpa' all he can show them about Disney.

Disney movies of my childhood included almost all the classics form the forties, fifties and sixties. Unfortunately there were no VHS tapes at the time, so I had to do it with cinema (re)releases and an occasional record.

I remember the first release of The Resuers quite well, it was a sensation at the time as I recall it. I also saw The Fox and the Hound when I was, say, 12 or 13.

The nineties ' renaisance' movies where not from my childhood of course, but as adult I'm sure I enjoyed them as much as many of you did as children!
