X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Post by xxhplinkxx »

So, as many of you know, an X-Men prequel is in the works starring (surprise) Wolverine. I'm so excited for this film! Not so much because of Wolverine, but more because of the other characters in this.

I'm really excited for:

CYCLOPS!!!!!!!! That's right! I'm sure it will just be a cameo though. The actor playing him is Tim Pocock. I know, sad it's not James Marsden, but it looks like it will definitely be a younger Scott.

Emma Frost. She's the X-Woman I love to hate! haha! I wonder how they'll incorporate her into the plot.

GAMBIT!!! The ragin' cajun finally makes the leap to the big screen!

Deadpool! I've recently become a fan of his due to the "Cable and Deadpool" comics, which I'm sad it's ended, but I think Ryan Reynolds is a perfect choice for him!

A teaser trailer was released at Comic-Con. For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is!

I will only like Deadpool if he talks to the camera. There had best be a fourth wall not standing somewhere by the time that movie's done.

Bah, Wolvie has always been my least favourite of the popular X-Men, but I'll see the movie all the same.

What I am way more excited for in terms of X-Men movies is the supposed series reboot (like what Batman Begins) was that fox is in the early stages of developing called X-Men: First Class, which will feature the original 5 X-Men (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel and Beast) and original Brotherhood (Magneto, Quicksilver, Mastermind, Scarlet Witch and Toad) doing battle.

I wish Marvel could get this property back from Fox now that they've got their own studio set up, and if Iron Man is any indication it'll be making good flicks. X-Men apparently hit their peak w/ Fox on number 2, just as Spider-Man did with Sony Pictures.

All these movies need to go under the new Marvel Studios, now. They're more interested in continuity over there.

Awesome! I totally can't wait for this, if it's true!

Too bad Tyler Mane wasn't coming back to play Sabertooth. This looks really good.

I hope that Will.I.am guy is able to pull off a decent job, considering this is first film.

Yeah, Taylor Mayne looked more like the comic book Sabretooth. But Liev trumps him in acting experience and talent. Though I do wish they went with a more Sabretooth look on Liev. Don't understand why they didn't have him in a wig at the very least. But all in all, the movie still looks awesome. No matter what, there will always be something the writers/directors don't stick with.

I know there was some early battles about the rating they were shooting for. Some wanted it to be R and Hugh Jackman was steadfast he wanted it PG-13. I think they should have gone for an R rating. I don't think it would have hurt the movie at all. Since many of the original fans of Wolverine, are not adults, and parents themselves, so likely bringing their teens to see it anyways. This is Wolverine's very torrid and violent path, it was okay to have an R rating. But oh well, like I said, can't win them all.

So far it seems the Watchman will be the first R rated major comic book film. I have yet to read that, but I might pick it up today. I got some early Christmas money and haven't treated myself to something really nice in a long time.

I have got a link to some more trailers, I thought you guys might like to see them.
http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808665084/video/12086696

they are a little temper mental. I found that you have to just let them play and don't touch any thing.

Also, according to imdb, the runtime has been cut from 118 to 97 minutes :(

Booo! That means 21 minutes less of wolverine & he is my favorite X-man.
Not to mention that means 21 minutes less of Hugh Jackman in that tank top of his  lol.

But that sucks that they cut down the runtime! Argh! There better be a directors cut or something on DVD!

And I LOVE the latest trailer! It's full of Cyclops-y goodness! Yum. :float: :thumb:
