Can't Hardly Wait: 10 Year Reunion Edition - 9/30/08
Of all the films in the SPHE library...I wasn't expecting this.
Can't Hardly Wait: 10 Year Reunion Edition
Title: Can't Hardly Wait
Starring: Ethan Embry
Released: 30th September 2008
SRP: $19.94
Further Details:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a 10 Year Reunion Edition of Can't Hardly Wait which stars Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, and Lauren Ambrose. Extras will include an original commentary with filmmakers and cast, a commentary with filmmakers and cast - 10 Years Later, featurettes (“Huntington High Class of ‘98” Reunion, “Can’t Hardly Wait: The Making of a Teen Classic”, “The Life of the Party”), deleted scenes, a “You Know You’re ‘90’s If…” trivia game, and a “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby” music video. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $28.95 with identical features.
Synopsis:
It’s graduation day at Huntington Hills High-- a time for Pomp and Circumstance, tassels and mortarboards, and serious introspection about the future. But tonight, the seniors will leave all that behind for the things that really matter; romance, revenge and rock ‘n’ roll. Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green and Jennifer Love Hewitt star in one raucous comedy about the ultimate teen party, a once-in-a-lifetime alternate universe where class nerds become class studs, super-jocks are humiliated, and freshman crushes blossom into grown-up romance. From prom queen to bimbo, meathead to misfit, everyone will be there for a hormone-charged bash tapped for out-of-control fun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
No trailer anymore, I see. *sigh*
Still, the movie is still one of those lazy Saturday movies that I enjoy if I catch it on TV. Wouldn't mind picking up this new edition, but only when it reaches the $7.50 shelf or the $5.00 bit at Wal-Mart. I don't think I'd ever forgive myself if I spent $20 on it.
Now, if only Buena Vista will jump on the upgrading-teen-movies-on-DVD bandwagon (Heathers, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Risky Business, the list goes on and on...) and release Special Editions of 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, and not-really-teens-but-still-teenish Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.

How do you think the rest of us feel?JiminyCrick91 wrote:*Sigh*
I may only be 16 but all of these anniversary editions make me feel old.

I was 13 when this movie came out, and it was one of those "wow, so that's what high school parties are like!" movies for us middle schoolers. I shudder to think how high schoolers circa 1998 think of the movie today...

I love this movie...but I probably won't get it unless it goes on blu-ray (and even then there are a few I want that are ahead of this). My dad brought the script home when I was younger and I remember reading it and how I couldn't wait to see the actually movie...I have the dvd and the movie is on our ipod. I'm glad that they are actually throwing this movie a bone in the anniversary release (even if it is only for $$).
Yeah Disney!!!

very much agreed!PeterPanfan wrote:I love Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, so a special edition of that would be gold!
I also agree that $20 for this movie is a bit much. As much as I loved it in junior high, I don't think I would spend that much on it.
By the way why do Ethan Embry and Seth Green look airbrushed to the point of near animation on the cover?

Yeah, they kind of do.Merryweather__ wrote: By the way why do Ethan Embry and Seth Green look airbrushed to the point of near animation on the cover?
I've always liked this movie, and I just added it to my list of DVDs to get. It used to be on TV pretty often, and I would watch it, and it's enjoyable. I don't think it's the greatest movie ever, but it's one I always enjoyed when it was on.
