Aladdin Platinum Question
Hey, all.
Anyone have any idea whether this DVD will have the "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face" line or the "where it's hot and immense, and the heat is intense" line in the opening song?
I was hoping we'd get the original, though Disney's alterations of previous Platinums leaves me with much doubt.

I'm 99.9% sure that it'll be the edit, esepcially with Disney's politically correct attitude these days. But there's no way to know 100%, they may suprise us. And seeing as the DVD isn't even formally announced yet, it's not that big of an issue right now is it.

Aladdin Platinum
I think that those lyrics will probablly be not included on the movie. But they might have a deleted scenes thing on this movie and they might include the words on that.

Re: Aladdin Platinum Question
Well, if it were not for the previous platinums not including the original originals, then I would say there is a good chance, but because they have included versions with animation alterations as the OTA's then I would say no, chances are this won't be included in the movie.feedmelinguini wrote:Hey, all.

However, as Guru sated, the original lyrics will probably be included or atleast mentioned in a special feature...
Oh, btw, Jake- the DVD was fromally announced in the booklet that came with The Lion King... it say's that Aladdin will be the next platinum in October 2004... unless this is not what you meant...

Re: Aladdin Platinum Question
I know that it was mentioned, but what I mean by formally announced is that BVHE officially announces it to retailers and whatnot and issues a press release with the features and all that. And no, the fake one that was cerculated here a few months back doesn't countPrince Phillip wrote:Oh, btw, Jake- the DVD was fromally announced in the booklet that came with The Lion King... it say's that Aladdin will be the next platinum in October 2004... unless this is not what you meant...

It has been announced. 5 October 2004.Jake Lipson wrote:I'm 99.9% sure that it'll be the edit, esepcially with Disney's politically correct attitude these days. It's been announced? I've heard that Disney planned to put in on DVD sometime soon but I didn't know it would be coming in 2004. I work at Blockbuster and I see the stuff we're getting and the release dates. I also can rent the new stuff before the customers do.

I know that the DATE has been confirmed. But there's no press release, specs list nor cover art yet (nor have preorders begun) so I don't count it as being FORMALLY announced. The DATE was as good as confirmed confirmed for Lilo & Stitch and Pocahontas SEs on Tuesday, and then in May, but that didn't stop Disney from delaying them did it. (Not that I'm expecting another Aladdin delay, nor do I want to give Disney ideas, but you get my point.) But without a formal announcement it's still more prone to a delay than something like The Lion King 1 1/2 or Brother Bear.MAH4546 wrote:It has been announced. 5 October 2004.
No press release = not formally (note keyword FORMALLY) announced.

And Disney have just aborted the Ed Wood DVD release (again) with a recall days before street (again), which has allowed unauthorised copies to slip into retail (again).
Even formal announcements don't mean the release is certain.

disney could always animate and insert a new song from the disneyland (california adventure?) stage show of aladdin. however, i thought that they had already digitized the film for an imax release. that ended up falling through, but my guess is that that is the print that we will receive on our platinum disc. this means that there probably WON'T be a new song, but it also means that someone out there knows if it will include the original line in the opening song.
(my guess is that it will be the edited version)
