Your link didn't work; here's the working link:

I'm thrilled about this! Disney isn't releasing it- "Life With Derek" is luckily a Canadian production, so it's actually getting season sets! Maybe all Disney Channel shows should be Canadian...

Thanks so much for posting about this, disneyboy!

So... why does it air on Disney Channel, anyway?

I'm not exactly sure, but I'm glad that it does. Back in the mid-to-late '90s, "Ready or Not", "Flash Forward", and "Avonlea" were aired on Disney Channel, even though there were Canadian productions. Wikipedia says that "Flash Forward" was "American television series produced in Canada", whatever that means.

So, "Life With Derek" isn't the first Canadian show that Disney Channel has aired.

Yes, they also aired "Naturally, Sadie."

I'm definitly buying this! It's my current fave show on DC!

I totaly forgot about "Naturally, Sadie". Whatever happend to that anyway? It was pretty good.

As for "Life With Derek", this is not my fave show. I like some of the episodes, but I think Disney Channel's other Canadian shows such as "Flash Forward" and "Avonlea" were better. I do think it's gotten better with time though. I like the later ones much better than when the first few episodes.

I don't have any sources to back it up, but I think it got pulled off of Disney Channel. There was this one episode where Sadie got a job cleaning up after animals or something, and at the end during her narration after she learned her lesson and whatnot, she said something along the lines of "sometimes you just have to deal with a lot of... crap". I think they kept the show on for a few more months, but never aired that episode again, and eventually they just stopped showing it. I was very disappointed with Disney Channel for letting that slip.

It could also have to do with Charolotte Arnold's active role on Degrassi: The Next Generation, which deals with real teen problems, in which she plays a "popular girl" (reading between the lines; a bitch). But I don't think that has anything to do with it being taken off the air, since various guest stars on Life With Derek currently have starring roles on D:TNG.

As for LWD on DVD, that's great for any fans of the show, rather than getting the regular Disney Channel release- a few episodes, some games and a "never before seen episode", which airs within the next two or three months.

Wasn't "Under the umbrella tree" a Canadian production as well?

Tommy2.net has "Life with Derek": The Complete Second Season listed as being released August 11. TVShowsonDVD.com also lists this date:

Cool. I've got season 1 on DVD, can't wait for season 2.

(And the episodes are un-edited! There's certain stuff they cut out of the Disney Channel airings... I guess 'cause they're too "racy" )
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
