My Local Disney Store Closed.

Post by PixarFan2006 »

The unthinkable has happened...

The Disney Store closest to me has closed. This makes me mad. It was one of my favorite stores at the Lansing Mall and now its gone.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Mine closed a few years ago, when I just started looking for a job.
Man has a dream
And that's the start
He follows his dream
With mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true
For you and me!

That must have sucked.

I don't have a Disney Store close to me sadly. The closest one is in Pigeon Forge which is about an 2 and a half hour drive from where I live. Usually I get to go during trips to Pigeon Forge, but anyway.

Brella - What about Nashville?

(I know next to nothing about TN, save for there was a Gathering in PF...so....ignore me if I'm wrong. All's I know is I was born there. :P)

I live in East Tennesse, where Pigeon Forge also is. Nashville is in Middle Tennesse, and I've actually never been there. So, I would say Pigeon Forge is closer. :P

Mine closed recently too. It's so weird seeing the mouse ears above the door but the bars over the entrance saying its closed for good. Oh well. All it ever had anymore were kids' clothes.

Yeah, when I was at the one in Pigeon Forge, I noticed it didn't carry Disney DVDs. Why? :?

Mine are still open. I live in Southern California. I think they only keep mine open because of our close distance from Disneyland.

WHAT?? The Disney Store in the Lansing Mall closed?? That blows. As you know, I am from Michigan, and I actually used to work at that Mall, in the American Eagle. I can't believe the Disney Store closed, that was one of the only things going for it. That mall is so ghetto!! Thanks for the update, PixarFan2006.

sad day!! :(

I hope the one near me doesn't close... it is definitely always busy but that could mean nothing in terms of closures....

the one at my local mall closed about 5 years ago. I really was mad when I found out. The next closest one is in Omaha, an hour away, but I heard they recently closed the Build a Bear, so who knows if Disney Store is safe. I last shopped there last summer when I got a POTC t-shirt featuring Will Turner.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I guess the one at the Poughkeepsie Galleria is closing as well as the Westchester Mall in White Plains, NY. But I don't see the Disney Store is closing at the Palisades Mall and the Cross County Mall anytime soon, they might. If you want to look for Disney stuff, go to the World of Disney at 5th Avenue in New York City. They got a lot of Disney stuff there.

Was down at my local Disney Store about two weeks ago, and it was pretty busy, considering it was a weekday afternoon. I don't think I should worry, actually I should be doing the opposite, cause as the lady working there was processing my sale, she asked me for my postal code to, saying that they want to know where their customers come from and where they should look into expanding to. So, Disney Store around here seems to be expanding. I would love for them to open one closer to where I am, cause it takes me well over an hour, probably closer to an hour and a half to get to the only one in the province.

What was once my local Disney store closed in 2002, and was replaced with a bizarre shoe store with booths where people checked the bones of customers to see if they had scoliosis.
I am not kidding.

Thank goodness that place closed down itself. (The shoes and bones place, not the Disney store.)
