Aaron: Hello, everyone, and welcome to the 4th Annual UltimateDisney.com/DVDizzy.com Movie and Media Awards. It's an honor to be back hosting the awards this year. I don't know about you, but I was on The Lookout for sequels this year, and I think I Saw about 300. Harry Potter had a Premonition, Spider-Man was Superbad, and Shrek returned for another Epic Movie.
Love was in the air as well... Juno got Knocked Up while Chuck & Larry got a License to Wed. The Heartbreak Kid grew A Mighty Heart but couldn't say "I Think I Love My Wife", leaving The Ex in need of a Hitcher.
The movies took us all over the world this year, from Fleet Street to Disturbia and from 3:10 to Yuma. We made an Eastern Promise in The Land of Women to find a Martian Child but travelled Across the Universe to no avail; we got lost in all the Stardust and wound up At World's End instead. Fortunately, there's a Bridge to Terabithia, but that's No Country for Old Men, so Mr. Magorium might want to head Into the Wild instead.
But I'm afraid things took a violent turn. Unfortunately for Jesse James, There Will Be Blood Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, thanks to Sweeney Todd's Blades of Glory. Due to a Breach in security, an American Gangster perpetuated an Assassination. Fortunately, there was Atonement when The Brave One unleashed Balls of Fury on the Shooter and The Savages. The good guys showed that We Own the Night.
Elsewhere, though, The Dark is Rising (and so is Hannibal). A Ghost Rider arrived in time for Halloween, when Daddy's Little Girls and the December Boys grabbed a can of Hairspray and became Transformers: Kerri Russell went as a Waitress and Amanda Bynes went as Sydney White. But This Christmas, Alvin and the Chipmunks Enchanted us with Music and Lyrics, so Fred Claus was happy.
We're almost at the end, but I'm Not There yet...
There was an Alpha Dog and an Underdog, a Hot Rod and Hot Fuzz, a Golden Age and a Silver Surfer, a Game Plan and an Ultimatum, a Bee and a Butterfly. There were Wild Hogs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Dan had a Real Life; Lars had a Real Girl. The Simpsons left The TV Set. We learned a little French: "Ratatouille" et "La Vie en Rose". A Book of Secrets gave us The Golden Compass so that we could Walk Hard but avoid the August Rush Hour on our way to Meet the Robinsons in a Wonder Emporium of the future, where Nancy Drew figured out that the Zodiac was The Last Mimzy.
On the small screen, "Cavemen" came "Back to You" in the form of their own series, trying to rake in more "Dirty Sexy Money" for Geico, but ultimately "Lost" the ratings war. Music provided plenty of entertainment too and It Won't Be Soon Before Long that Amy Winehouse takes The Walk back into "Rehab". Sounds like she needs a "Wake Up Call" but "Teardrops" on the "Guitar" are all you hear These Days. But "Up Above My Head I Hear Music in the Air", so "That's How You Know" that you're "Never Far Behind". On the bookshelves, there was a Mosaic of Brains and Deathly Hallows and on DVD, there was a Twist in Time.
It was a year to Remember and there's much to commemorate as we gather in the brand new MM&TV Theatre. So "What Time Is It?" Time for the show!
