Treasures Box set

Post by MagiChar »

Hey, should I get the Walt Disney Treasures boxset even though I already have two of them, or are they going to be individually released without the tins? I want the ones I missed from Wave 1.
Thanks

Your guess is as good as mine, but right now they're probably going for a lot on ebay, so what I'd do is buy the box set and then the duplicates that you get inside the box of what you already have can be ebayed to make back some of your money.

I'd go for it if you can afford it.
There is not sign YET of the Treasures being re-released individually (and the latest Wave has been delayed 6 months) & I went through hell on eBay trying to get all the tins, but I'm a nutty collector and I like the "original releases" if I can get them.

I think the Treasure boxes sound great, and I'd go for them. As suggested already, you can always sell one of your duplicates and make back some of the (fairly reasonable) price.

You should probably get it before costco runs out of the set, because if that happens, who knows if they will ever be re-released.

Here's an option: The Disney Movie Club

They STILL have the Treasures Multipack for sale if you are a member; $126 I believe incl shipping for all four Wave 1 Discs, AND that counts as 4 of your 6 fulfillment titles. Simply eBay the other two you already have, or post them for sale/trade on the trade forum here.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't join the Disney Club though because I don't live in the U.S. I'll probably buy it now and sell the two that I already have. I have a question though, are the cases individually wrapped again inside the box?

yes. each case is individually sealed and wrapped within the box set. the box itself is not wrapped but enclosed in this hard plastic container.

i bought my costco box a few months ago.

I recomend going for the costco boxset, as it is around the same price as the DMC boxset plus you are getting the wave 2 treasures...

I personally has 3 of the treasures and still went for the boxset, and I'm happy I did!

This is my first time posting, but I've been watching from the sidelines for several months. As soon as I saw the post about all 7 Treasures being re-released, I went and purchased them at Costco.

Did anyone else who has purchased the Costco set notice that they did not include the "limited edition collectible lithograph"? This doesn't really matter to me (as I don't mind not having the tins as well), but this is one more thing that sets the Costco set apart from the original Tins.

I was a bit mad, at the lithos not being included, cause though i initially thought they wouldn't if the tins weren't, it does say on the back of the box, of each treasure, that the lithos are included, and how hard would it have been to just include them inside the individual boxes, or in the main box, as I understand these were just repackaged from damaged tins, maybe they did not want to have to open all the boxes to add the lithos and then repackage...

Oh well, i got the lithos for the three most important anyway...

My Treasures box didn't contain the lithos either. No biggie for me, but . . .

Would've liked to have the Davy Crockett one. :(

If I am not remembering incorrect here it was stated that the lithos were limited.

If it seas on the box that they should be included they should have removed it, of cause, but they was only intended for the tin boxes.

Well, the box set of treasures, are the treasures from the tins, they were just from damged tins that were repackaged into the box set, so yes they should have included the lithos.... the tins in the box sets, are each one of the 125000-250000 that werew released, these are not extra copies....

That was new to me. Then I agree that the lithos should have been included.

I thought these was a new printing

How do you know this? If the Costco boxed sets were from "damaged tins", why aren't the lithos included. Weren't the lithos sealed up inside the DVD case?

I don't understand why the tins would be damaged anyway. I think these boxed sets are a new printing.

I'm thinking that perhaps, disney realized that they didn't produce enough tins so they wanted to re-release all 7 treasures, but they didn't want collectors who bought the tins to feel like it's not really a collectors tin since it's just being re-released. So they just re-released the dvds, that way the people who bought it originally have something that is unique to them. That's my thought anyways.
