DVD Release of The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin on Jan. 15th!

Post by mnguy »

Mill Creek Entertainment is releasing the first in a series of three DVD sets containing episodes from The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin. This animated series was based upon the popular animatronic talking teddy bear doll that has captivated children and parents since 1985. This DVD set will have the first twenty episodes of the series, in original broadcast order, and will feature both English and Spanish audio tracks. This two-disc set will have a $14.98 MSRP and subsequent sets will be released in May and July of 2008. A box set containing all 65 episodes of this series is planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2008. Information on the first DVD set can be found on their website at www.millcreekent.com. For all the fans of this series, this information is a long time coming and should be well received.

I'm confused - is this set being released to all retailers or just to that website?

I am glad that someone else enjoyed Teddy Ruxpin...I have seen 2 other dvd releases previously (about a year or so ago). However...it wasn't a two disc set so maybe this is those two releases combined into one!!! And a full box set!!! That would be nice.

Thanks for the info!!!
Yeah Disney!!!

I remember watching Teddy Ruxpin and the animatronic one when I was little. Heh..my older brother and older sister were born and raised in the 1980s (except my brother was born in the mid 70's) and were loved by this. I have sooo many vague memories of Teddy Ruxpin and I remember watching the 2 episodes on VHS constantly. I'll buy those when it's released. This is gonna be PURE nostalgia for me.

I picked up the complete series release that Mill Creek released a few years ago and I treasure it. I'm sure there's not much different in this Image release, but if someone has it and can tell me what makes it better than the Mill Creek release, I might have to reconsider.

Keep your Mill Creek set and save your money! There is nothing that makes it any better! In fact it is worse!

I got it off Amazon.com and I returned it the next day.
It looks like they copied the Mill Creek's set on the computer and tried to touch it up with different colors and complete failed at it lol. It was horrible, the colors were so bright and they colored over it so much it looked like they were markers on my computer screen lol.
Lord knows what it would look like on my HD TV, a bunch of crap!

The first couple of episodes the audio was off and not in sync with the characters. Not worth buying at all!

I could go on about this set on how bad it was, just stick with what you have. :)

Thanks for letting me know. I was planning on holding onto my Mill Creek set regardless, but would've considered picking up the Image set if someone said it was worthwhile and had advantages over the other one, but it definitely doesn't seem like it based upon what you've said. Glad I got the Mill Creek release while I was able. Being stuck with the Image release only knowing that the Mill Creek release is better would've been frustrating being that the Mill Creek release is out of print.

I love my collection too. It's not perfect but it's from the original prints.
