Well, there's the possibility of it being released on DVD around the release date of TLM III: Ariel's Beginning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It was an ok series, all Disney animated series based on there animated counter parts are good, some more than others, especially Tail Spin.

Triva Note: Dorothy's design from the ABC series The Wizard of Oz was design and model off of Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

You probably have never heared of this series, it didn't last long.

I'm sure many didn't, but I did! The Flying Monkeys bring the Wicked Witch of the West back to life with a spell, I believe, and Glinda makes the ruby slippers appear in Kansas so Dorothy can go back and join the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion as they chase the Wizard who's blown away in his hot air balloon and save the Emerald City from the Witch's grasp!

I loved it. I wish that would come on DVD. That comment about Dorothy based on Ariel, how do you know? All of characters look really different from their movie counterparts. They went for some new stylization, I'd say.

Oh, Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. They just click "edit" and can change something or add something or delete something.

It only says Dorothy's design is similar to Ariel's, we don't know if it is a fact that her design was based on Ariel as a deliberate choice by the designers themselves.

Tbaks for the DVD note, I wonder if the whole entire series is available.

Hey, Toon Disney did run the series for a while! Not anymore now.

Imdb also said that she was designed after her.

If you look at the two, you can see a semilarity, espeially the face.

no the series hasn't been released on DVD as a complete series yet.
