Favorite non disney-animator in 2-d or 3-d medium and why!

Post by REINIER »

Can't find this listed anywhere so I'll give it a go!

What favorite animator male or female comes to mind when you think of non- disney animation,
be it in cartoons or movies, Ill categorize it for you!

Cartoons 2/d ,3/d:

john R dillworth for ''courage the cowardly dog'' in 2d, he is not only the creator of this endearing show but has animated on occasion, and anything courage is fine by me!

Matt Groening, although he recently admitted that animation wise he isn't up to standard anymore,
or to quote him in a comingsoon.net interview:

''I can't animate squat anymore, these guys are way ahead of me now!

he's still top on my list, he continues to amaze with his Simpson creation.
A show that is still running can't be bad right!

Movies in 2-d:

Don Bluth, although retired as an animator he has created as well as produces many non disney ''classic animation''

Hayo Miyazaki, although more of a conceptual artist Miyazaki has animated much of the ''spirited away'' sequences we all know and love!

Movies in 3-d:

Sal Masekela (who????)
Well he's kind of a hidin gem in his own field,
sal has (among many other things) created many of the wave sequences in the recently released
''surf's up'' by sony animation.
This is a great movie, one that should get more credit than is now bestowed upon.

If you too know your animator's by heart, or at least by name, please don't hesitate to poste a response.

mindboggeling isn't it

:D
When it comes to brains, I got the lion-share,
but when it comes to bruth strength, I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool
