I might sell my Disney DVD collection, not sure what to ask
I was hoping some of the Disney DVD collectors out there might be able to give me an idea about the value of my collection. I have all domestic releases of every full-length animated classic and Pixar movie starting with the release of the Limited Issue set in '99. This includes every version of each title (e.g., Gold Collection, Collector Sets, Platinum Editions, etc.) I also have all the Walt Disney Treasure tins. There are over 100 titles in total and all are still factory-sealed with orginal slip-covers, if applicable. Any advice would be appreciated... Feel free to write me at arcraig61@gmail.com.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'm not sure how much money all of them are together, but a collection like that should estimate way over $2,500 especially since a lot of them are OOP.

Do you already have an eBay or Amazon account? If so, hopefully you have good feedback, because people are skeptical when buying Disney movies online, since many people sell bootlegs. If you don't have one of those accounts, and if you're planning on selling them online, then you should make one, and if you have little things to sell besides these Disney movies, then maybe sell those and try to build up some positive feedback for yourself. Also, for eBay, you should open up a PayPal account, since that's the easiest way to pay and get paid.
(If you don't have an eBay account and have any questions, you can ask me- I used to be a professional eBay lister as well as I've used it on my own for years.)
On eBay, you could sell groups of movies together in a lot. When I sell many items at once, I often use the lot option. You save money in listing fees big time by listing as lots. And, on eBay, it's best to spend the 65 cents or whatever and use a gallery shot- the little thumbnail picture next to the listing, since more people will look at your listing.
I know you weren't asking about that...but if you were wondering, there you go!
I started to do it, but it's taking too long...you should go on Amazon.com and/or Half.com and see how much the titles are going for New (from sellers with great feedback). Also, on eBay, you can look at "completed transactions" to see how much items have sold for.

The reason I posted this was because I was mainly interested in understanding what the complete collection might be worth. I originally posted this in the general discussion forum, but the moderator saw fit to move it to the trade forum. I'm still not 100% sure I even want to part with the collection.
The reason I am even thinking of selling is that I am getting weary of having to keep up with every release of each title. Since I started the collection I felt compelled to acquire every release of the titles I indicated. I had no idea that Disney was going to release so many different versions of the same title and frankly it is getting to be a pain to keep up with it.
I definitely do not want to sell any of the titles separately (either individually or as sub-sets).

You could create an account on DVDSpot just for your Disney DVD collection. You type in where you got the DVD (if you remember) and how much you got it for (if you remember). On your account page, it will tell you the retail price of your collection, and below that it will say how much you spent. You could choose one of those prices (or find one in between the two) and set that as a price for the collection, should you be willing to part with it.

Or...you could actually watch the movies and enjoy them instead of dealing with the anxiety of having to obtain all of them. A complete collection that's completely unopened is good for only one thing: selling it. Otherwise, why not crack a few shrinkwraps, nuke some Orville Redenbacher, and park it on the La-Z-Boy for a few hours of good entertainment?
