High School Musical 3 (maybe 4?) Discussion
To soon?
Well anyway, High School Musical 3 has been announced for a Spring 2009 release date. It's subtitle is Gradu-Dancin'! which means it'll involve the Wildcats prom and graduation instead of the Halloween theme originally rumored with an October 2008 date. There is talk of HSM 4, but how would that work if the kids aren't even in High School anymore? What do you think? Should they change the theme? Will it still be popular a few years later? Will Escapay still not care about it? (well I think we all know the answer to that question)
Your thoughts. (to quote Jim Hill)

Honestly, my first thought is: yay for me being able to see Corbin Bleu on the big screen...lol...I'm such a fan of that guy...<3
I'm really excited for HSM3- I just can't get enough. I can't see them doing a HSM4. Not with the current cast- they need (and want) to get on with their careers. As I've mentioned on JimHillMedia a couple times, I can see Disney pulling a "Saved By the Bell: The New Class" on HSM, and make movies down the line with a new class of Wildcats.
I like the prom/graduation idea a lot better than the "Haunted High School Musical" idea. I can already guess who the Prom King & Queen will be...but, you never know- we could be surprised.
I love anything HSM-related, so I just can't wait! I just hope everyone comes back (if Zac Efron doesn't come back, they could always have Drew Seeley play Troy...lol).

Well I think the Prom/Grad is a good plot, but I wish they would still go with the Halloween one, just because it would be interesting to see what kind of songs/dances they would do. Of course a Valentines one would make more sense with the whole Troy/Gabriella thing than a Halloween theme. Of course I also wouldn't mind seeing the original musical they were supposed to be doing in the first movie

Well, for the fourth they could do College Musical, or Community College Musical. That'd be interesting... although at my college people really do randomly break out into music and dance. It's the benifits of going to a nice liberal arts school i guess.
Although I havn't seen HSM2 and I didn't really think HSM was really all it was cracked out to be I think it'd be nice for this to make it to the big screen. With a bigger budgit, it could really turn out to be a lot better. Also I'm all for introducing this kind of thing to the younger generation. I'm a camp councelor over the summer and it kinda made me sick to my stomach when my 8 yr olds would sing songs like "Do your chain hang low", "Buttons", or "Smack That". I was relieved when they broke into HSM songs!
