I just bought a bunch of movies: 1 on Amazon, about 9 on Half.com. I used the UD link for Amazon (I hope it worked- the "thehomeimprovementz" was only in the link until I searched around...hopefully it still worked- does Amazon give UD money even if people buy used DVDs?)
If UD can be supported through eBay, why not also through Half.com, which is owned by eBay? On the movies I bought, I felt that the sellers on Half.com had better deals than the sellers on Amazon. Does Half.com even have a system set up where websites can get money through them?
Why can't we support UD through Half.com?

Thanks! And yes, the referral fee is now the same whether Amazon's selling it or a Marketplace user is. Quite a change from a few years ago, when the most you could get was half and indirect links didn't get as much.blackcauldron85 wrote:I used the UD link for Amazon (I hope it worked- the "thehomeimprovementz" was only in the link until I searched around...hopefully it still worked- does Amazon give UD money even if people buy used DVDs?)
We used to have an affiliateship with Half.com, but they closed the program and as far as I know, never established a new one. It's strange how eBay and Half are like one in the same (Half requiring even less, since all that's needed a one-line entry and UPC), yet eBay is fickle about referral fees and Half doesn't do them whatsoever.blackcauldron85 wrote:If UD can be supported through eBay, why not also through Half.com, which is owned by eBay? I appreciate you looking to support UD through Half. Though we have an up-to-date page of all the e-tailers through whom you can Support UD, very few people know/care about it, so referrals are generally pretty rare. I guess I should do a better job of making it visible, but then most of the work I've been doing for the site lately has been content-driven, be it working on reviews or developing new improvements like the in-progress, sortable-by-category DVD Reviews Index. (Shameless plug, I guess, but I'm eager to share this ASAP before it gets finished and goes live.)
Thanks for starting this thread and reminding people to make an effort to help keep this site afloat!

That looks GREAT, Lukester! I really like how it can switch from title to rating to studio, etc. Have a pink elephant, a gold...er, red star, and a thumbs up!

Thanks for the reply, Luke! When I do buy movies, I always open Amazon (through UD!) and Half.com to compare prices and feedback and such. One of my problems with Amazon is that it seems that more people have worse feedback on Amazon than on Half.com.
And, that index is just what I wished UD had for the longest time- it's awesome! Thanks for making it alphabetical! YAY!
