Prom Night: The Musical

Post by dvdjunkie »

Don't know how many of you watch soap operas - pardon me, afternoon dramas - on television but "One Life To Life" on ABC has been building up for this coming week, actually some of the final rehearsals are on today's (June 15) show, but next week June 18 to June 22 will be "Prom Night - The Musical" and it looks to be pretty good.

The rehearsals this week have been pretty funny, but the music is all original and so are the songs. Most of the teen stars of the soap are doing their own vocals, and the choreography is first rate.

You might set your DVR's or TiVO's and record each show so you can fast forward to just the musical parts, because I am sure that they are going to suspend their storyline for a five-day musical.

With all the lookers at this I am surprised that no one is saying whether or not they are going to be watching this show. This past week has been rehearsals for it, and all of the songs are originals, and the choreography is pretty darn good, in fact, I think it is better than "High School Musical" which I just saw yesterday performed live on stage in Wichita.

Do any of you plan on recording this to watch at a later date? Or are you just going to ignore something that could be one of the best things to hit daytime television in quite some time.

I guess Genie Francis's one-month return to General Hospital last fall wasn't "best" enough? :P

Anyway, I haven't watched One Life to Live on a daily basis since...I think the summer of 2004 during the Starr/Travis storyline. I've honestly gotten out of touch with what's going on in Llanview, and have no idea what this "Prom Night - The Musical" is about. Will probably tape it to watch later, as I'll likely be watching As the World Turns at 2 instead.

This show has been choreographed by the same people who did "High School Musical", so it should be pretty good. And it involves all the younger cast members who are supposed to be Seniors at Llanview High School and this is their Senior Prom.

I plan on recording each day and then editing the "story" part out and duping the musical intself to DVD. So if you want to see it without the annoying storyline, let me know.

I am just curious how it will all play out. How they are going to integrate it into the show without messing things up.

About the Daytime Emmy's..........you always know which Soaps are going to do well, by which network is carrying the Awards show. It was on CBS this time, so naturally they are going to boost their own shows with these awards. I don't pay much attention to them because they are so biased according to the network status. I would like to see SoapNet carry them exclusively to get a neutral corner for everyone to be nominated and awarded from. That would make more sense.
