Can You Draw Mickey Mouse? (or any other Disney character)

Post by UmbrellaFish »

I was wondering about it and finally decided to post it. Can you draw Mickey Mouse? What about any other Disney character? Or do you have any artistic talent? I was thinking about this because since this site is about Disney and that most if not all love Disney and since the company wouldn't be anything without drawing. Also, if you can post a picture of your Mickey or other character.

I can draw Mickey Mouse a little. I'm not that great, still much better than some of my earlier interpertations. I'm also trying to learn how to draw Ariel. I want to get the Disney Learn-How-To-Draw on The Little Mermaid so I can make a really good interpertation.

P.S. Please no personal slander on people's drawing. Don't won't a fight to break out.

I can draw some human characters well if I have live action references to go by. For instance, I can't look at a picture of Jasmine and then draw Jasmine. That would mess me up. I can look at a friend that resembles Jasmine and then draw the Arabian princess.

I can trace the shape of

Thumper

Mickey

Goofy's head

Donald's body

I believe I could draw Oswald, Julius (from the Alice Comedies) Big Bad Wolf and prob. Cinderella or Peter Pan

I'm not very good at Mickey, but here are the characters that I can draw nearly perfectly (I wish I had a scanner so I could prove it)

Maleficent
Jafar
Ursula
Cruella DeVil
The Cheshire Cat
The Hag (Snow White)

And those are just the ones I could do on my own without looking at anything at all. I can pretty much draw any Disney character on model if I were to look at a picture of them.

Really? Okay, I'm not trying to say you're lying, of course, but I did a picture of Snow White I don't think was exactly on-model, and I was looking! Then, so much clipart of Disney characters is off-model, especially Snow White and Cinderella, and that's official Disney art! So I wish I could see your pictures to judge for myself...

But if you really can do them on-model, that's amzing and congratulations!

I plan on posting some pictures myself, when I've drawn them...I'm currently working on a Snow White DVd cover.

Thnks! I really do wish I had a scanner so I could prove it. But I guess after countless times drawing specific characters, you eventually get them right.

I drew a picture of Ariel from TLM, though I was looking at a picture on the internet. But I wasn't tracing it, so that should count.

I need a picture to look at in order to draw the character, I can't just draw it from my head otherwise it looks like someone in grade 1 did it  But where I can I add my own flair or add some details. If I knew how to work my scanner I would scan in some of the pics I've done. Here's a list of what I've done and if I can remember what I used for a reference:

Sleeping Beauty (my VHS cover for Sleeping Beauty)
Snow White (Snow White hardcover book)
Cinderella (Disc 1 from the PE edition)
Pinocchio (VHS cover, it's one of my least fav. ones I've done)
Peter Pan (VHS cover)

I'm sure there's more but I generally use the dvd or vhs covers to look at as reference.

I can draw Mickey and Minnie anywhere, anytime (as long as it's with pencil or chalk), thanks to the "Learn to Draw Mickey and Minnie" book I got many years ago. I used to draw a few years ago, and I'd look at the picture and then draw it (not tracing). I like drawing, but since I moved 3 years ago, I've only drawn one picture.

I'm planning a four part collage of the Disney Villains, right now everythings all roughly done just so I can get an idea of what villains will fit in, and how many I can get on a page. So here is part one :D

Image

Out of all the characters I'm really disappointed with how Lady Tremaine worked out (and Maleficent as well), but I figured I've already spent an hour working on them, so it's as good as it's going to get, plus this is only a rough draft so I can change it later on. On the other hand I'm soooooooooo happy with the way Chernabog looks, def. took me the longest to get him right. Anyways hope you all liked part one.

Chernabog definatley looks the best! Great job Chernabog_Rocks! A really great effort!

But hey, at least you did them well enough to the point where I can see where you got some of the pics from!

*Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty Special Editon VHS cover)
*Hag (Snow White VHS cover)
*Ursula (Shot when she turns back into a witch after being Vanessa)

I'm not sure about the reast, but good job all around!

Thanks :D Your right about where the Maleficent, The Hag and Ursula are from. Most of them will probably be from trading cards Disney put out called Disney Treasures. I used the cards as reference for:

Kaa and The Queen of Hearts (and various little details for other villains)

Lady Tremaine's reference was a picture I found on Google

Captain Hook's reference was from the House of Villains VHS Cover

Chernabog's reference was from a book I have about Fantasia, but all the pictures of him were small or really dark. So that took a while trying to find a good picture to use for reference

The Hydra head is from the back of the Hercules VHS

and The Sheriff of Nottingham is from one of the cards in a Disney Trivia game I have.

I can't really draw any Disney characters, maybe Donald, but I can draw Spongebob pretty well. I don't need any references for spongebob. I drew Daria and Quinn once. If I had simple references for other characters I could probably get it after a few efforts but I have to be in the mood and have patience. Everyone here is good though. I wish I was better though
