I have put off buying the Cheetah Girls 2 in hopes of Disney releasing a two disc DVD of it. Disney released High School Musical two or three times on DVD, so I'm assuming they'll do the same with the Cheetah Girls because of it's popularity. My question is should I buy the Cheetah Girls 2 now, or should I wait in case another version comes out?
I've noticed that there are soon to be three WDT releases with Donald Duck shorts. Why were so many Donald Duck shorts made? Just curious!
Lastly where do most of you buy DVDs at? I usually buy mine at Target, WalMart or Amazon.
Thanks!

Well, from what I can gather, High School Musical has proven to be extremely popular, which is probably why it's ended up with a couple of releases. Question is, is Cheetah Girls 2 likely to be anywhere near as popular. I always think with these sort of things, the answer is, if you like it, and will get pleasure from it, buy it - if a better version comes along, you can always sell the earlier version on Ebay.
As far as why so many Donald Duck shorts were made - easy, they were very popular.

1. Around the DVD release of The Cheetah Girls 2 last year, people started saying that there WOULD be a 2-Disc re-release by the summer. Since I haven't heard anything about it since then, I'n guessing it's not gonna happen. If worse comes to worst, buy the 1-Disc edition and if they do release a 2-discer, you can just trade in your copy of the 1 disc at Game Stop, FYE...
2. I don't follow with the WDTs, so I can't help you there.
3. I buy my DVDs wherever they're sold, if they're at a reasonable price. I try to buy *some* of my DVDs used. Not because I'm broke/poor/cheap or anything like that, it's just that I buy TONS of DVDs a month, and if I buy them ALL new, it gets sorta expensive, so if I want a DVD for cheap, or an OOP one, I go to FYE/Saturday Matinee (they are the same stores basically, except Saturday Matinee only sells DVDs and FYE sells DVDs and CDs) or Game Stop. Otherwise, I will get them wherever.

To answer your question about the number of Donald Duck shorts - There was a large number of them made because by the late 30's/early 40's, he was the studio's most popular character. It's hard to imagine now, but Mickey Mouse's popularity declined in the late 30's (which is why Walt gave him a role in Fantasia - he was Walt's favorite character and hoped this would trigger a comeback) and didn't really return until the mid 50's with The Mickey Mouse Club. In all, though, there are four Mickey Treasures out now, and Donald will end up being four as well, if we end up getting the fourth one. There were many Mickey cartoons made before Donald was created.

The Duck was popular because he could react to situations. Mickey was just your all around good guy- he could get poked, hit, smashed, bumped or anything else- and it just isn't funny- he would chuckle it off and call it good- think of the new cartoons like Prince and Pauper and Runaway Brain- He endures anything and he remains innocent.
Don, on the other hand, reacts to a variety of situations- small and large- and it delights audiences. Maybe because we all secretly (or not) wish we could lose our temper, take out anger, and throw tantrums when life doesn't go our way. During the duck's most popular years, WW2 was going on, along with homefront issues, lowering economy, and getting back to life after the war. Donald was a venue for audiences to identify and release some of the pent up emotion being felt around the world.
