This is sad news. I don't love all sequals, but I love to see what happens to characters after etc.
I guess, as I'm such a huge Princess fan, I'm lucky as I have the upcoming Enchanted Tales volumes which will feature each Disney Princess in turn. And the Princess Stories DVD's etc.
Its sad for the others though

Absolutely fantastic. Ends dilution of the brand. Very smart move. Things are looking up under Lasseter and Catmull?sp

Even though this isn't exactly news (Lasseter said late last year that Little Mermaid III would be the last), I'm still happy about this. Disney's sequels have wildly gone through every quality spectrum under the sun: great (Cinderella III), good (The Lion King sequels), okay (The Jungle Book II), and abysmal (Hunchback of Notre Dame II). Plus, an overwhelming amount of Disney films have gotten sequels. Look (I'm not counting Fantasia or The Rescuers as those continuations were done by WDFA):
Bambi
Cinderella (two sequels)
Peter Pan
Lady and the Tramp
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
The Jungle Book
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (a sequel and three theatrical spin-offs)
The Fox and the Hound
The Little Mermaid (two sequels)
Beauty and the Beast (two sequels)
Aladdin (two sequels)
The Lion King (two sequels)
Pocahontas
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mulan
Tarzan
The Emperor's New Groove
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Lilo & Stitch (a sequel and two films that bookend the tv series)
Brother Bear
I think we've gotten more than enough. Don't forget that we've got the Disney Princess Enchanted Tales series, so people will still get their doses of new princess animation if need be without destroying the reputation of the original films. Heck, if that series sells well enough, maybe we'll see something similar aimed at boys (Disney Hero Adventures?). Let's just be grateful that the library of sequels ended on a decent note than stooping to an all-time low.
