Awesome info! Now I can rank up points when I see go Meet the Robinsons, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and Ratatouille. These points will make up for the lack of DVDs throughout the year (I'm only interested in The Aristocats: Special Edition and The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition. Oh, and Meet the Robinsons, of course. I'll consider double dipping for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Friendship Edition if it proves to be a worthwhile upgrade, and if Disney would get Confessions of An Ugly Stepsister out of limbo, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.) I wonder how much theatrical movies will be worth. On one hand, you're spending less money on tickets than you are on DVDs, but on the other, you're spending eight bucks for a one-time showing as opposed to 20 bucks to watch a film and its bonus material as often as you like. Plus, since Disney cares more about box-office gross than DVD sales, I would think they would hold theatrical tickets in higher regard (maybe make them 200 points instead of 100?).

Yay! That makes my day! I can see them "losing" what you mailed in, though. If that happens, you can send in the tickets of someone you went with and hope they "get" it a second time. I should be giving Disney more credit, but I can see that happening. But, that's really neat that they're doing this. I love the Disney Movie Rewards!

That sounds interesting. I'll probably see the movie if it gets good reviews.

Cool! And since the program has been extended to the end of the year that means I can earn points with Ratatouille and even National Treasure 2 in December! Wow, when I joined I didn't know that it would be easier than I thought to collect these points! I was thinking I might check out Meet the Robinsons, but wasn't sure if I was going to see it in theatres, but this just makes my decision. I'm just wondering, if your entire family goes and sees it, will you get more points for each stub. I'm just wondering how much points it's worth, if it were 50 or maybe 100 each, than I should already be able to get what I've been saving up for.

I didn't know the program was extended. When did they extend it, and what's the new deadline to earn points? This makes a world of difference because then I could add Enchanted and the DVDs for Ratatouille and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End to my points.

According to the offical site, the deadline for collecting points is December 31, but the deadline for redeaming points is January 31, 2008

Wow, that's excellent! Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Now all of the Disney DVDs I get for Christmas can go towards my points collection. Hopefully there'll be some worthwhile prizes added between now and then.

I was thinking about that too, but they'll probably only let you redeem once for each movie, just like the DVDs. That will prevent people from going and collecting 50 stubs and sending them all in :P However, you could ask someone else in your family to make an account so that they can start collecting points too, and maybe once you've seen all the movies they'll have enough points to redeem for something.

As far as the program goes, I'm hoping they extend it to something permanent. It really is a nice perk getting free gifts.

Wow, lost of great news here. It is really cool that Disney Movie Rewards is offering points for seeing Disney movies in the theaters. I plan on seeing Meet the Robinsons and definately Ratatouille in the theaters, so that will be a great way to bump up my points. I also was unaware that they deadline for redeeming points had been extended through the end of the year. This means that now The Jungle Book and more than likely Ratatouille will be eligible for rewards points. Awesome, I believe the previous deadline was the end of September, in which case The Jungle Book would not have been included. Esentially Disney Movie Rewards users will earn double points a few movies this year, if they see the movie in the theater and then buy it on DVD.

I just got an email about this. Movies will be worth 50 points per ticket. Until April 15, they have a double points offer, so 100 points per ticket.

Also, you can submit up to 4 tickets per Movie Rewards account, so you could earn up to 400 points for seeing Meet the Robinsons in theaters.

I got that e-mail too. That is awesome news, I am going to see the movie sometime soon with a group of 4, so I will probably add 400 points to my DMR total. That is awesome. Wonder if they will do the same thing for Ratatouille, I hope so!

I'm assuming they're talking about any movie theatre? I hope so, because there are no big chains around my school.

I'll finally be able to get the DuckTales DVD!!

They didn't specify, as long as you send in a ticket and it's not hand written or photocopied it should be fine!

I'm thinking of getting my boyfriend to sign up for an account so he can collect points for the movies we're seeing in the theater, that way we could get more rewards :D
