scenes you can't stand to watch in movies
have there ever been a scene in a movie that's scared you or made you not want to watch that particular scene.
for me it's Nedry's death in Jurassic Park since it spooked me when i was little. another one was the Nightmare King Scenes in Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. but there is one that still gives me the creeps that i don't watch the movie period. that movie is Child's Play.
now let's here yours.

It's not so much scary scenes as gross scenes that get me. For example, I refuse to watch at least the opening of "Saving Private Ryan"- a few years ago, my husband had me start watching it, and I just cried and couldn't do it- graphic war movies are not my idea of fun. So, just the fact that a film is graphically violent makes me not want to watch it.
Yes, the opening to Saving Private Ryan was gruesome but that's the most historically accurate part in the movie (storming Omaha beach in Normandy) and in was 10X worse in reality than what you saw. I think it's the best part because the rest of it is all Spielberg. It's a patriotic film they show you that so you know what these people went through so you can have the lifestyle that you enjoy today.
The part in Resident Evil where that guy gets chopped up into little bits by the laser lattice. I'll never forget that part.

Fat Hairy Naked Man-Butt in Borat!!

Barring that, I have to go back to childhood... This one never actually gave me nightmares, but I would lay awake trying to force myself "NOT to think of it." Of course, you all know how hard it is to not think of something when you are trying not to recall it...
Our family was visiting my uncle and staying in his house, so I was sleeping on the couch. I decided to see what goodies the premium cable channels had to offer, and I stayed up late so that I wouldn't get in trouble.
After flipping channels and seeing a whole boob (hey, I was 12...) I decided to stop for a while in hopes of more. The movie was Dead & Buried and it involved a group of people torturing a guy to death, and setting him on fire... The next morning (in the movie,) the sheriff and medical examiner found the body, which was hung upside down. The medical examiner touched the head, which caused the mouth to open and exhale any remaining air in the lungs...
Basically, the charred, smoking corpse SCREEAAAAMMMEDD!!!

although i think the final destination movies are quite boring...i find the mutilating body scenes terrifingly gross if that counts it makes me feel sick.....i can tell you that darkness falls is the absolute least scary movie...and i agree the war movies arent scary but they do make me cry because you feel like ;;you are actually there or its real and you feel for the families even though its a movie,,,,sorry if i got a little off topic

With scary movies, for me, it's either about the gore (which I'm not a big fan of, though I love scary movies), or because I'm alone that I don't want to watch a certain scene or movie. There are several scenes in "The Shining," for example, particularly the part with the guy in the dog mask, and then there's most of "The Exorcist." I also always hated hearing the voice in "The Amityville Horror" say "Get out!!!" and also hated the pig eyes in that movie. And I don't like to see the phone call stuff from "Mothman Prophecies," because I researched the subject matter before seeing the film, and that ended up causing me to get the creeps from it quite easily. Mainly though, what scares me in horror movies is demon possession type stuff, and I am squeamish about gore and death stuff. I had a very hard time watching the scene where Kurt Russell drowns in "Poseidon" too. Oh, and I hated hearing the dialogue at the end of "Tales From the Darkside" as a kid. Probably the opening dialogue too. That show was soooo much better than Tales From the Crypt!!!
I know I'm forgetting a lot of stuff though.

Ah, yes, good ones! I used to have a big problem with throw up scenes too, like in Problem Child 2 and Stand By Me. Not sure if I can take that sort of thing today. It's been a while since I watched those or anything with major throw up.
And painful stuff is always hard to watch, like lots of stuff from Jackass! I agree about the papercut scene. I can't watch that!!! I guess nowadays, painful stuff is the hardest thing to watch. I actually feel the ghost pains myself as I watch them, so lots of times I look away, and I still kinda get the ghost pain, ha.

Oh my gosh!! YES! the first time I saw that I almost passed out! it's funny - I'm fine seeing these Jackass guys barfing, farting, running into walls, etc, but I can't handle papercuts!!bambifan56 wrote:The park in Jackass: The Movie where he takes a Manilla Envolope and cuts between all his fingers and toes!! For me it's any throwing up scenes (to me they're pointless and not necessary) and my main two are anything to do with Needles and Underwater scenes, I always end up holding my breath during those ones. Other than that I also find excessive gore in horror movies rather stupid despite loving the genre.

The dog scene in the Fly 2 (the 1989 one) and the scene at the end... the dog scene was in my mind for a long time and since then I haven't touched horror movies much.
