TONS OF DISNEY CHANNEL UPDATES!
Hey everybody, lots of news for you today:
"Disney's Wizards": comedy series with three squabling siblings who all have magic powers, but only 1 will be able to keep the powers once they turn 18, coming this fall.
"Phineas and Ferb": series that chronicles two step-brothers who build innovative creations, much to the annoyance of their little sister. Meanwhile, their pet platypus Perry leads a double life as a secret agent and faces the villain each episode, Winter 2008.
"Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board": sequel to Johnny Tsunami, DCOM premiering in June.
"High School Musical 2": Wildcats' last day of school, and although it's summer, the show must go on.
"Twitches Too": sequel, no plot or release date.
"Dadnapped": DCOM, finds 14 year old Melissa with a bad case of sibling rivalry, only her competition is a fictional character in her father's best selling novel about a teenage super spy.
"Franklin B.C.": 3-D Animated DCOM, follows Franklin, the smartest kid at school, who happens to be a prehistoric caveman learning to adapt to his new surroundings.
"My Friends Tigger and Pooh": 3-D Animated Playhouse Disney series, starting in May, follows Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, plus Lumpy, girl Darby, and her pet dog Buster.
"Bunny Town": Puppets, Playhouse Disney series, Fall 2007, in the world of Funny Bunnies, who find the inhabitants of People Town very amusing.
Alright, that does it. All sorts of new stuff, although I do realize that a few of those have been posted before. All quotes or paraphrases come from the March 2007 WDC Investor's Newsletter.

I can see how this whole thing will pan out already. The show opens with each wizard being 16 and after three seasons the dreaded day comes when they find... they all get to keep their powers. This sounds really bad to me based on the premise. I'm trying not to judge until I see previews and an episode, but it sounds like Disney is trying to cash in on the Potter craze. I wonder if this will be a comedy or a drama, because if it is a comedy and only one wizard truly gets the powers (without the Disney ending), then it would be weird to have hilarium ensue and then make people sad."Disney's Wizards": comedy series with three squabling siblings who all have magic powers, but only 1 will be able to keep the powers once they turn 18, coming this fall.

Well, I'm 36 years old, so I can remember when The Disney Channel was actually The Disney Channel. Vintage Disney programming made up the majority of the schedule in the 1980's. We had classic cartoon shorts in the morning and afternoon, The Wonderful World of Disney every evening, and vintage titles shown throughout the month. Yes, there was other programming as well, but it didn't dominate the schedule as it does now. Then, in the 90's, vintage programming was relegated to late night only with Vault Disney. Still, I was able to get my fix, since I was up late, or I could tape something that caught my eye.rs_milo_whatever wrote:why is everyone so against disney channel, sure its not what we disney fans want it to be, but i think its the best network out there.
And as we know, a few years ago Vault Disney disappeared as well, and vintage Disney programming is a rarity on the channel now. So that's why I hate it. It may not be bad for what it is, but it's a mere shadow of what it was.

Although, I agree that Disney is the best channel for children at the time, I think we should realize that this channel was made for kids of this time. I'm sure that when the kids of this time grow-up, they'll be wanting their old shows. Sooner than later, Lizzie McGuire, That's so Raven, Phil of the Future, Hannah Montana, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody will be considered as vintage and classical to this generation of Disney fans as the generation of kids who grew up with the orginal Mickey Mouse Club.

It's not that we don't like Disney Channel it's just that now days Disney shows don't have moral or values. Back in the 1980's and 1990's both live and animated shows had morals or values to them. Also Disney channel should consider having shows like Gargoyles, DuckTales, TaleSpin, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Aladdin, Mighty Ducks, Goof Troop, Quack Pack and Goof Troop on during the late night and early mornings instead of tons of reruns of Lizzie McGuire, That's so Raven, Phil of the Future, Kim Possible, Lilo and Stitch, Jake Long: American Dragon, Hannah Montana, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Also Toon Disney isn't really Toon Disney for classic shows or Disney Afternoon shows it's more for young kids that only care about Jetix shows. The thing I don't understand why Disney can't just make a new cable channel call Classic Toon Channel or something along the line. I'm glad some Disney Afternoon shows are on DVD at least.why is everyone so against disney channel, sure its not what we disney fans want it to be, but i think its the best network out there.

God Wants You
Disney Wizards sounds all right, so do the sequels to Jhonny Kapala and HSM, but the one I'm really looking forward to is Twitches Too. I loved that movie when I first saw it, so it'll be great to see a sequel to it. The Playhouse Disney series for Winnie the Pooh and those Bunnies sounds cute. The other stuff don't really interest me that much.

Three Wizards needs to be live action to have any sort of chance. It sounds interesting to me, though.
Phineas and Ferb sounds stupid. I know Ashley Tisdale's voice is starring in this series.
I would love to know who else is set to star in all of these series/movies.
A CGI DCOM? Sounds second-rate, to say the least.
The other DCOMs sound mildly interesting.
I still think DC should've picked up the Michalka's sisters' Haversham Hall. That sounded great.

And I'm 21 years old and I too remember The GOOD Disney Channel. Why is this world always going to teenagers and no one else? I ask you, where oh where can we watch good Disney? Where? They're never shown on TV anymore, so where can we go to watch them?carter1971 wrote:Well, I'm 36 years old, so I can remember when The Disney Channel was actually The Disney Channel.
