Fantastic Four: Extended Edition

Post by disneyboy20022 »

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is scheduled for release on June 15th, but before that sequel hits theatres 20th Century Fox is hoping to sell us the first Fantastic Four movie just one last time. Fantastic Four: Extended Edition will be a new 2-disc set that includes both the brisk 106 minute theatrical cut of the film, plus a new cut that features an extra 5 minutes of footage added back in. The DVD comes with a handful of extras such as an audio commentary track, deleted and extended scenes, and the following featurettes: “Heroes Are Born: The Making of Fantastic Four,” “Jack Kirby: Storyteller,” and “The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine”. It also will contain animatics, art and photo galleries, trailers, TV spots and a preview of the upcoming sequel. Despite all the criticism, I kind of enjoyed the first Fantastic Four film and wouldn’t mind seeing it again. I don’t know that I need to have 5 minutes of crap spliced back in from cutting room floor, however. If the sequel is even just moderately better than its precursor, then I think it will be a fun little flick. Agree or disagree? The Fantastic Four: Extended Edition hits stores on June 5th.

Full specs, from various sources, including my Double Dip Digest...

Fantastic Four: Extended Edition (June 5) $26.98
Disc One:
-Theatrical Version (106 minutes)

Target Exclusive Bonus Disc Material (15 minutes)

Anyways, I'm not entirely sure if I really want to double-dip on this title. I mean, I've got a nice two-disc set as is (the single-disc with the Wal-Mart bonus disc), but still...that 97 minute doc and multi-angle animatics could be worth the $26.98.

Man, this sucks! I mean, I want it, but it's bad enough that they rarely put 2-discers at reasonable prices anymore since they tend to release single discers as well. It's so much worse when they only release the single disc, and release the 2-discer MUCH later... By then, almost everyone has said, "Oh well, might as well get the single disc..."

Maybe I'll continue to hold out on X-Men 3...

No cover art yet? Oh well. I caught this movie on Hbo a few months back and it was not as bad as it was made out to be.

Maybe it's me, but I just don't see the "hotness" of Jessica Alba. So I hate how she's thrust in the front of the cover.

Speaking of the hotness of Jessica Alba I still have to work on my lawsuit of Fantastic Four after they blinded me with a spotlight when I was trying to look down her dress from five floors above.

Then, you must have the eyesight of Quincy Magoo.

Either that or I have selective hotness eyesight. I mean, give me Hottie McHotHots like Scarlett Johannson and Rachel McAdams over Jessica Alba any day of the week.

Hmm... no, it can't be that. I have that, and I still see Jessica's hotness. The only thing I don't like about her is that mole on her chin, though sometimes it is not noticeable (and sometimes it is far too noticeable). Of course, that's the only prob I have with Rachel McAdams too. She'd be perfect, but she's riddled with moles. Moles are an instant turn off for me. As for Scarlett, I like her curves, but I'm primarily a face guy and hers does nothing for me.
