While having lunch with awallaceunc.....

Post by TurdBizzler »

The other day, awallaceunc and I were sitting down to lunch and I asked him a question: If you had to choose 1 ride in each park (MK, MGM, EPCOT, AK) and ride each in order at 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm, which would you chose and what would the order be? This was a fun question.

Note: for the sake of the question, just pretend that these are the only 4 rides you can do that day, but while you aren't in line / riding the ride/viewing the attraction, you are doing something fun, like looking in shops or eating. We want this hypothetical to be fun.

Here is my list:

9 - The safari at Animal Kingdom

1 - Rockin' Rollar Coaster at MGM

5 - Walk around the World Showcase at EPCOT (limited to 1 hour by awallaceunc so it would be considered an attraction)

9 - Splash Mountain at MK

Interesting...but would shows or parades count towards attractions?

9 am - Kilimanjaro Safari (DAK) - Get an early breakfast, probably before going to the park (maybe a couple breakfast bars or something). Start in the morning, when the animals will actually be out and about. Between 9 and 1, I'd probably also take in the Flights of Wonder show and the Finding Nemo musical, then head over to MGM and be there by noon I guess.

1 pm - The Great Movie Ride (MGM) - before TGMR, I'd want to have lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine In, even though the food's not that great, but it'll be indoors, air-conditioned, and have silly scifi clips playing. Then I'd do quick browsing, take in Great Movie Ride, and check out two shows: Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and Indiana Jones Stunt Snow Spectacular. I'd leave around 4:30ish and head to Epcot.

5 pm - Spaceship Earth (Epcot) - first thing I always do at Epcot, because it's my favorite ride in the park. Then I'd check out the World Showcases quickly, probably get a snack in France (I love their chocolate croissants). I'd probably leave by 7, so I could get to MK and have some real fun.

9 pm - Pirates of the Caribbean (MK) - in the hours before POTC, I'll definitely veg out a bit at Exposition Hall, and watch the three cartoons there before walking around a bit just to take it all in. I'll take goofy pictures in front of the castle and other photo ops around Adventureland before doing POTC. Afterwards, I'd head to Liberty Square and get a quick dinner of chicken tenders (best tenders I've ever had) at Columbia Harbour House, before getting a prime spot in Fantasyland for the Wishes fireworks (which should be around 10:30 or so if I went during the summer). While everyone's in a huge crowd on Main Street, I'd have the nice advantage of elbow room in Fantasyland, and the opportunity to takes as much time as I'd need to walk out of the park. Also, I'd stop by more shops and such, then head to the Ice Cream Parlor, get the Cookie Swirl on a cone, and head out of the park.

    ok.....so.....

9am- Test Track @ Epcot.....it should actually be running first thing in the morning.....fun ride.....

1pm- Rockin Roller Coaster cause you just have to fit it in somewhere....and then go next door to the little ice cream shop and get some chocolate ice cream.....the BEST!

5pm- well, i have been on the Kilimanjaro safaris all times of the day and i think 5pm is the best time for this cause this park closes early, and at the end of the day about 5 the animals are hungry and getting ready to go back to their pens.....the best safari i went on was at 5 and a giraffe got so close to me he almost touched me, and looked right into my eyes....soooooo cool

9pm- i agree with the post above splash mountain for last, it is one of my fav. rides and is so neat at night.....dont forget to put your hands up!

9 am: Expedition Everest. It'll start the morning off with a bang, and the coolness in the air would make the ride even sweeter. I would definitely eat breakfast AFTER this, though.

1 pm: The Great Movie Ride. Disney-MGM Studios feels very much like a daytime park to me for some reason. Maybe it's because movie shoots are usually during the day, even if it's a nighttime scene. Plus, the park is filled with great places to eat lunch.

5 pm: Test Track. I like Epcot best during the late afternoon/early evening. Riding this while there's a golden glow outside would be really memorable. Dinner would follow.

9 pm: Mickey's Philharmagic. Yeah, I'm lame, but this my favorite Magic Kingdom attraction. Just like I prefer MGM during the day and Epcot in the late afternoon, I love Magic Kingdom best at night. It makes everything feel grander, and the lights everywhere really add to the atmosphere.

I would love to spend hours on end at Disney World just admiring the environment, eating, and shopping. One day I plan to do that because I hate missing out on so many details just because my friends are rushing to go on the next attraction.

Ditto. I got to do a little of this on my last trip there and really enjoyed it. Now that I have an annual pass, I hope to have more opportunities to do that.
