Question about VIP free shipping offer

Post by blackcauldron85 »

I know that once you're a VIP member, you get free shipping for life on any order with two or more movies. But, the small print says, "This offer cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion or coupon". From my understanding, you automatically get the free shipping when you order the 2 or more movies. Let's say, though, that I want to use an offer...free shipping saves you only a few dollars, but a buy-one-get-the-rest-50%-off would be a better value. So, if I type in a promotion code, will the shipping amount show up, while the percentage (25%, 50%, etc.) be taken off? Sorry if it's not clear what I'm trying to say...basically, if I use a promotion code, I'll be charged the shipping, right?

Not ALL VIP members get the free shipping for life offer. From what I was told, it's given at random.
Let's be nothing. I heard it lasts forever.

And it's very rare, from what I've been told. The ones that have it should feel very, very lucky.

Thanks, everyone! I actually had to call the DMC earlier today anyway (I had many questions)...the cast member I spoke with said that I can use promotion codes and still get free shipping. And, if you're not sure if you're a VIP with free shipping- I got a VIP packet in the mail when I became a VIP, and one of the papers had a box mentioning that I have received free shipping for the life of my membership. What confused me was that it said that that can't be used in conjunction with other offers. But, on the phone, the cast member said that in only a few rare cases will I not be able to use a promotion code with the free shipping offer. And, he said that I don't have to type in anything- I'll get it automagically.

So, does anyone know if it is true that free shipping opportunities are only issued to a privileged few? Or, is it indeed given to all VIP members? (Definitely something for me to look forward to- I only need to purchase 2 more DVD's to complete my membership obligation).

It's not given to all VIP members- you'd get something in the mail that says that you have free shipping with all orders of 2 or more movies.
