Did they ever plan a Disneyland UK?
Hi, I used to live in Blackpool, England. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the place but it's probably the UK's most famous and popular holiday resort. It already has a big theme park and many other attractions, but I've heard stories from locals about the Disney Company planning to build a Disney theme park there. Does anyone have any info on this? It would be greatly appreciated. Who knows? It may have just been a local urban legend, but since I used to live there, I thought it would be pretty cool to find out more.

Yeah - you're right theredarth_deetoo wrote:Somehow Blackpool doesn't seem like a very prestigious place to host a Disneyland Park.

i've never heard that Disney was ever going to make a park in England but it probably was in thoughts for when EuroDisney was being decided which country it would go to so England might have been a choice but now i don't think they'll go to Europe again for quite a while since they're scouts looking for a future site in India, Shanghi, Korea, Austraila, and somewhere else in Asia that i don't remember.
Actually when EuroDisney was in its initial stages of planing in the 80's the UK was considered along with hundreds of other locations in Europe. The UK was ruled out when Disney couldnt find an area of land large enough or flat enough to buid the park.
Eventually is was between Spain and France with France coming out on top as it was more central to the rest of Europe.
