Disney soundtracks

Post by UncleEd »

Is there anywhere online to get MP3’s of some of the Disney films without soundtrack albums like Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Aristocats, the Rescuers, Ichabod & Mr. Toad, & Fun & Fancy Free? I’d love to complete my Disney soundtrack collection (I have all of the official CD releases and if they ever release the others I’d buy them too.)

And if you were unaware, Song of the South, Saludos Amigos, and Three Callberoes have been released as MP3s by Disney and a few appeared on the Kiddie Records site a few years ago.

I wish. Apparently, there was a release of "The Rescuers Down Under" that had the songs from "The Rescuers", but I foolishly did not buy it. As for the others, you'd be better off just making audio rips from the DVDs, as there are only individualsongs available elsewhere.

I have audio grabs of "The Journey", "Rescue Aid Society", and "Tomorrow is Another Day" if you want them...

I'm sure you can download some of the more famous songs off of somewhere like Napster or Limewire. They probably have ones like "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat" up for download.

Oh, I forgot, "Aristocats" is available on iTunes as an EP with all the songs, though "Scales and Arpeggios" is of poor quality.

EDIT** Whoops, J/K, iTunes no longer has it. Later tonight I will deprotect the EP and upload the songs for you guys.

I have that Rescuers Down Under CD but Rescue Aid Society isn't on the CD. If you tell me how to post it, I'll trade you Someone's Waiting For You for it. You. Is this CD out of print now? I know there was an Aristocat CD in the mid 90's but I passed on it at the time and it was gone later.

I don't know alot about Napster or Limewire. Years ago I had a couple of the Merlin songs I got off of Kazaa but I quite using it after all the lawsuits of private citizens and my computer crashed and I lost the files. But these were record album versions, different from the film. I wondered if anyone has posted the record albums as MP3's online yet. I know this stuff was put out on record albums because I was at an auction and they had a whole stack of such obscure Disney stuff. Unfortunately I had to go pick someone up from work and they didn't get to them while I was there. By the time I got back they were sold. They only went for a dollar too. Oh, the pain!!!

Anyway, what are the chances of being sued over downloading obscure stuff like this from one of those file share services? I'm not caught up on how they work now after all the lawsuits.

I was just converting all of my Disney CD's into MP3's and burning them to CD so I can listen to them on trips. I have normally recorded the songs from DVD when they are not on CD but I thought I"d ask if anyone has CD/record versions before I put the obscure stuff to CD. I know at one soundtrack website a guy had Robin Hood for trade but I didn't have anything he wanted to trade for so I couldn't get it. So somebody has Robin Hood. Anyway, I take the demos from the DVD's and included them in my collection also. I love Disney music.

I think the CD is out of print now. I really don't care about trades, I'll just post what I have of the Aristocats and Rescuers later tonight. It's only fair. I have all the tracks on "Aristocats" save for two, "Thomas O'Malley Cat" and I think it was like whatever song shows up at the very end of the movie (was it "Ev'rybody Wants to be a Cat (Reprise)" or something?).

EDIT**(Wow, I'm on a roll) Or, there's the full soundtrack, score and songs, on Amazon.com here.

I'll ask this here too. Have the stage versions of the Hunchback of Notre Dame songs ever been released in English in demo form? What about the lyrics? After all these years of listening I'd like to know what they're saying.

I can now guarantee you that both Thomas O'Malley and Everybody Wants to Be a Cat is up for download. I have downloaded both now. :)

And it looks like you found a relatively new CD for the Aristocats! cool!

I'll IM you sometime soon when I am on Yahoo.

Wow. I had no idea that they did an expanded Cd. Thanks for that link! The Aristocats I saw only had 6 songs.I'l have to look up some of the other obscure 70's films now. :D

I know there was a Great Mouse Detective one. Luckily I found that one years ago. Still need the Black Cauldron though. I have the UK Hercules CD too that has a few songs not on the US release. I don't know why though.

Were the Fox & the Hound songs ever released?

By the way, when I got my Pete's Dragon CD the day it came out my copy has what I describe as an audio glitch on the Song "I Thought I Saw a Dragon" When MIckey Rooney says "It was there!" my copy sounds like he's under water and when I make a wave or MP3 it distorts it even worse. Were all the CDs like that or was I just lucky? I haven't bought a replacement because I wasn't sure.

SpringHeelJack, is there any possibility that you could send me 'Tomorrw is another day' from The Rescuers ? I would love it if you could, as I only have a version sung by someone else, and not featured in the original movie.

Many thanks if you can!

One more question. What CD's have the film versions of the Pooh songs? I would like to find these too but it's hard to go sight unheard since so many rerecordings have been done.

Thanks.

I have the imported The Aristocats Soundtrack, and it's great. Yes, it's in english, and the sound is great. The soundtrack includes almost every score track to the film as well. Would you like a copy of it? :)

UncleEd, as far as "The Black Cauldron" soundtrack, there was an official one released on record, tape, and CD, and a bootleg one. I don't have either, but I know that the bootleg one has pretty much the whole score, while the offical soundtrack has only selected songs. The bootleg quality may or may not be as good as the official. The bootleg has been widely circulated, though.

I just PM'ed it to ya! As for why you can't PM, I believe that people who created their account on UD after a certain date (can't recall the specific date off the top of my head..) cannot PM people.

Anyway, Thanks again!!!!
