will TSL have a 3rd Season?
will TSL have a 3rd Season?
Hello
just saw on tv.com that TSL is supposed to have 65 episodes until now with 39 (!) on the 2nd (i would prefer 2 seasons with that lot of episodes)
Disney had a episode limit of exactly 65 episodes, then, TSR came with 100 episodes (TSR ist't continued, is it?), so this limit shouldn't be existing anymore....
AFAIK, TSL is the most popluar Show after HM - would be a shame if it's ending soon....

Re: will TSL have a 3rd Season?
My understanding is that The Suite Life got a 13 episode pick up for this season. However, the folks at Disney Channel tell me that they're very likely to pick up the back nine and end up doing a full 22 episodes this season.Thorsten wrote:Hello

I hope that's not too disappointing for any of you.

I bet it will and I'm hoping it will. I think TSL is one of Disney's better shows. It's what TSR and HM want to be, but aren't. Hannah Montana is easily the worst show on Disney Channel right now. While I do like it the best, TSL has one of the most annoying and cringe-inducing characters ever to be on television. Esteban needs to die! I hate that guy!
I think Disney will keep it going because it's doing so well, and since TSR is leaving, they need to keep TSL so they'll still have three sitcoms (TSL, HM, and Corey).
If the do cancel it after the aformentioned 65 episodes, I could see Disney creating a spin-off for Maddie and London to capitalize on the HSM craze. Maybe we could even expect a show set in the HSM high school with Troy, Gabby, Sharpay, and Ryan. It would probably do well. And wasn't there a Arwin spin-off rumored?

Huh? Why 13 episodes or 22? There are 2 seasons until now, the first with 26, the second with 39 episodes....Bill Freiberger wrote: My understanding is that The Suite Life got a 13 episode pick up for this season. Nah, I like HM. Alyson Stoner (referring to some discussion about TSR episode 3.33) would be better for the role of Hannah but Miley is good, too. Just Phil or Lizzie are loosing my attraction at the moment.I bet it will and I'm hoping it will. I think TSL is one of Disney's better shows. It's what TSR and HM want to be, but aren't. Corey? Is there a new Show? How's it called? The IMDb doesn't know such a show....
BTW, i got the shortcut TSL and TSR here from the UD Forums....so don't complain.

I can't answer that question. I'm very often at a loss when it comes to explaining the actions of The Disney Channel executives. But I was told by the shows writers and a couple of the executives that the third season order is 13 episodes. I was then told that it would probably be upped to 22 at some point but that wasn't 100% guaranteed.Thorsten wrote:Huh? Why 13 episodes or 22? PS: If you watch "The Suite Life", keep an eye out for my son playing the guitar in the episode "Band In Boston".

I'm not saying the acting is great or anything, but Suite Life IS one of the current Disney Channel's better shows. Better than that one, though, was Phil of the Future. I can actually watch those two. The rest of what I like on current Disney is animated stuff (Lilo and Stitch, Emperor's New School, Kim Possible: all great, and Brandy and Mr. Whiskers has really grown on me). Off the top of my head, besides Lizzie McGuire, I can't think of anything I've liked too much on the "NEW" Disney Channel. I guess shows like "So Weird" and "Jett Jackson" were watchable though.

I'm actually pretty upset that Phil of the Future ended. I don't know what it was about that show, but I found Pim histerical.
As for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, it's been my favorite show since it was released. That's So Raven used to be, but I think the jokes in TSL are funnier, and the casting is perfect.
I'm pretty upset that TSR is ending though. I always felt that Raven was pretty funny.. well the way she delivers her lines, as well as her expressions.
Hannah Montana is a little annoying. They've had a few good episodes, but for the most part, it annoys me.
Cory in the House is hard to say. There has only been one episode so far, so it's hard to say how it will do. The first episode aggravated me though. Horses? Come on.
Eh, that's just my input.

Dear God, now I know how Bill feels.
Can we short out on the abbreviations please? If you're going to abbreviate something, say what it is first and then abbreviate it, e.g., say The Suite Life and then call it TSL, don't just start off the bat. This discussion would be so much easier if one could actually read it without scratching my head!

Cheers,
JM

That's really cool that it's gotten extended, though it annoys me that even if it gets the back nine picked up, it's end on 87 episodes, and hopefully a TV movie. Hopefully it'll get to 100 episodes, like That's So Raven. Maybe once TSR goes off the air and TSL becomes the number 1 show, they'll reconsider and give it another extension, to 100.

I'd rather it didn't. Disney should focus more on TV-on-DVD projects... particularly for shows it bought the rights to for absolutely no reason that has yet become evident. A good example is Digimon... they bought the rights, butchered the fourth season and killed off the show in North America... and now the least they can do for fans of the show's good seasons is have the decency to release it to DVD in proper season sets.

As confirmed in our recent interview with Brenda Song, TSL is indeed coming back for a third season, which is currently in production.

It would be stupid for The Suite Life to not have a 3rd season; it's so popular. I know the standard for Disney channel shows was 65 episodes, but TSL hasn't even been on for 2 years, so I don't think the number matters in this case. My guess is that they'll go up to 100 episodes or so (probably 2008 or so). If Cory in the House is successful, they might possibly do a TSL spin-off.

The Arwin pilot was shot but its not going to series.James wrote:Yeah they're going to do a spin-off about Arwin aren't they? Didn't Disney pick that one up? Personally, I think that it'll suck, but who knows it could be the next Frasier. Not many people like that character anyway, so it'll probably be a critical and commercial flop. But again, who knows.
