How do I merge threads?
I want to try this out to keep threads fresh and not so tucked away, never to see the light of day again.

I'm afraid only moderators can merge threads. If you come across threads that need to be merged, you can make a post in one of them requesting that a moderator merge them.
A good way to keep threads from being tucked away is to "bump" them, which is fine so long as the bump is adding something to the thread or sparking further discussion.

You could try something like "Could a mod please merge this with..."Big Disney Fan wrote:But what specifically do I say to get the moderators to merge the threads?
Let's take an example shall we, a thread on Sleeping Beauty DVDAlso, I have no idea how to figure out what to say when bumping old threads. I feel like I'm on thin ice when I do this.
Example One: Good Bump
I got this yesterday on DVD, i haven't seen this in years. It was always my favourite Disney film as a child, and I can't believe how wonderful it looks, the restoration is amazing, it really shows how beautiful the film art is. Also I'm really glad the film has finally been released in its original widescreen aspect ratio. I'm a little disappointed by bonus features, I felt there could have been a documenatry that went into more depth about the making of this film and there were too many games for my liking... etc
Example Two: Bad Bump
I like this movie, Merryweather is funny.
If only Animaniacs was still on air, I could be a writer!

Well what do you think is more awkward, on thread going back 3 years with everybody's contributions to a given topic, or 50 threads all with only 10 posts in them? Plus the majority of times when someone starts a new thread 9 times out of 10 it is a question, to which the answer could be found in the older thread.

I found an OLD thread that I like that I would like to add to, partly because they kinda left us something, if you know what I mean. It's here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... php?t=3172. It's about Disney anthology episodes with animation of any kind. Go to the fifth page of the thread and scroll down until you see a LONG list of TV episodes without animation. After that list is a list of some other animated episodes that the poster was unable to find for any reason and has invited others to look for it.ichabod wrote:Well what do you think is more awkward, on thread going back 3 years with everybody's contributions to a given topic, or 50 threads all with only 10 posts in them? Like I said, this thread is about three or four years old; is it all right to bump this thread? Because I have some information for this page.
Well, I guess I'll go ahead and add them in.
