The "Search" button

Post by Big Disney Fan »

I've been told on a Holiday TV special thread that I should have used the search item instead of creating a new thread, but doesn't anyone know that that's too much trouble? I mean, doesn't it take forever to find what you're after?

It should not be too much trouble if you'd read this thread.

I'm talking about the search button. It's really annoying to have to make all those decisions and STILL not find what you're after!

Then maybe you're not using it correctly.

Sometimes the Search Option isn't necessary, when all someone needs to do is scan the first two pages of any forum to find a recent thread they can't find .

But suppose that doesn't work, then what?

Then use the search option, try variations of what you're searching for. People won't get searches right the first time around. The Search Option is not that hard to use, it's very user-friendly.

Well, I found one thread I'd like to post to, but I'm afraid of doing so because it hasn't been updated since April. And I know how persnickety some people are of updating old threads.

Are they? I think resurrecting an 8-month old thread is fine, especially if it has a bunch of replies that are bound to be repeated by starting anew. I'd think that the regular contributors to the forum would be happier to see an old thread bumped than repeated.
