Freaky Friday Sneak Preview
Don't know if anyone cares or not, but there is a sneak preview for this film in theaters Friday.
now, I've got a question... What exactly is a sneak preview... Out of all my film going years, I've heard about them, but never been to one, thus, not knowing what the heck it it!
edit: And about the film.. it looks pretty nice... I'll probably go and check it out... but not at the sneak preview (see above)

A sneak preview is basically a showing of the movie prior to release date. A way to see it before most other people.jabroni76 wrote:now, I've got a question... What exactly is a sneak preview... Anyways I won't be going. I doubt I'll be seeing this movie in theaters at all. It just doesn't interest me much.
~ Freaky Friday ~
So... who all saw Freaky Friday? I did, and actually, it wasn't bad. The film had comedy, romance, mother/daughter relations (d'oh), along with other stuff...
The only thing about the film I disliked, was the music of it. Well, actually, it was the use of music. I didn't mind the loud, rock type music much, but the places they played, and the level they played it at got to me. I mean, the music only needs to be so loud, especially while other dude's are talking...
Also, maybe it was just me, but I thought towards the begining that the film shots were realy quick, even though I think it was meant to be that way, it in no way looks good... Oh Well.
Now if you think this movie is just for little kiddies, you must be wrong. Sure the theatre was packed with youngens, but I still found the movie wonderfull, for a 14 year old teenager... Some of the jokes, or scene's make you ask yourself how the film got a PG, while others, you find yourself laughing your head off along with the other 50 kids in the room.
Overall, a great film, and I reccomend you all to go see it, especially for you guys who drool over ugly movie stars, Lindsay Lohan is one for you!
Kidding ofcourse!

I've just seen the Parent Trap remake, and I think it's wonderful.Captain Hook wrote:I'm sorry, I guess I'm a purist, but I do not want to see Freaky Friday, nor do I intend to. I still haven't seen Parent Trap remake...
It's basically the same as the Hayley Mills one but I have to admit I liked it even (a little bit) more: e.g. the English butler, the ending etc.
So I'm quite looking forward to the new Freaky Friday.
Yes, the Parent Trap remake is actually much better than the original, in my opinion, and this is coming from a fan of the original. The remake's less campy and a bit more sophisticated. Also, Lindsey Lohan (who plays the twins) is much better at faking an English accent than Hayley was with her American one. Oh, and I loved the whole subplot with Jessie the housekeeper and the Martin the butler.
Oh yeah, back to Freaky Friday.
I think it looks kind of cute, and I'm particularly curious as to how it compare with the original since I love the original.
Oh yeah, back to Freaky Friday.

Oh so sequels are bad, but remakes are good?
I've nothing against either - but looking at it from a creative point of view, surely a sequel has more originality than a remake?
I wonder what Walt would say about remakes (and yes, I'm aware he remade a number of his animated shorts).
Anyhow based on everyone's comments in this thread, I guess the new film isn't crammed full of fart and burp 'jokes'. At least that's something in this day and age of children's films.

Off the topic of my head two direct remakes were the two Silly Symphonies "The Ugly Duckling" and two Mickey Mouse films "Orphans' Benefit" - the later colour remake even includes the same soundtrack as the earlier Black and White cartoon.
Also several cartoons were thematic remakes, if not actual remakes - such as the two Mickey Mouse cartoons - the "Moose Hunt" and "Moose Hunters", the latter was in colour and included Donald and Goofy who were missing from the earlier black and white short.

The movie actually is at a close Movie house to me so I went to see it today (only 20 miles)... interesting how they put a Looney Toons preview up with this movie.
Good movie overall. Enjoyed it. They could have done some more work with the school scenes, especially with the teacher and worked that issue a little more.
