Post A Random Fact(s) About Yourself

Post by Just Myself »

I'm always in the business of getting to know everyone here a little better, so I thought this was an interesting thread idea. Just post one or more random facts about yourself.

Some random things about me:

- I am a hopeless romantic, emphasis on HOPELESS. ;)

- I've been told by some of my buds that I have a good singing voice... this just goes to show they've never heard me in the shower or while on the computer. :P

- I once tried to stay awake throughout an entire week at Boy Scout Camp, from Monday to Saturday, and found myself conking out at 5:25 am on Tuesday.

Now, your turn! Tell us something we didn't know! :)

Cheers,
JM :thumb:

* I have one foot a whole shoe size bigger than the other

* I cannot whistle or snap my fingers

* I can tell you in an instant what was happening ("Doctor Who" wise) in a certain year, but I can't remember what I did last week. What did I do last week?

* I had and still have an instant dislike for Mick Hucknell. Just seeing him for more than a few seconds makes my skin crawl. Ugh!

* When I was about 11, I was almost run over (a car just scratched my elbow taking off skin and I still have a slight scar). Unfortunatly, I was almost run over by a out of uniform police officer, who proceeded to lecture me for about 30 mins, then took me home, and lectured me and my parents for another half hour. Then two days later we had loads of road safety leaflets posted through our letterbox (about 250!).

* I always take two bottles into the shower. I do not wash & Go.

* Reader (my surname) comes from one of the following:
[a] A craftsman and family who thatched roofs (a distortion of Reeder)
A learned person who could read in ancient times, such as a monk
[c] Readda was the collective family name of a celtic tribe who founded the town of Reading
I prefer possibility [c] even though it is the least likely root of my name.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

-I never learnt how to ride a bike.

-I can't stand pasta.

-I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 15.

-I like to sleep hugging a small pillow to my chest.

-I have four birthmarks.

-My guilty pleasure is to pick a late night movie on SBS based solely on it's description and then watch it. You see a lot of cool, interesting, weird and just plain bad movies this way. 7 times out of 10 the film will have a sex scene in it

*Ehm, I am 19 years old and still watch Disney movies as often as I can.

*I have never done drugs or smoked a joint even though I am from Amsterdam (europe style) *gasp*

*I used to be addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I know Lame)

*I own a few precious ($) Disney paintings that I have not put on the wall because I am afraid they will change colour due to exposure to light. (Im weird)

*I have "bactofobia" meaning I am afraid of germs. Which means that when I am around people and someone sneezes or coughs then I hold my breath till I almost die.

*Once I pucked in class when I was in kindergarten. A girl whom always picked her nose (seriously all day long!, like a freaking supermarket) held my hand! Now 15 years later her nostrels (sp?) are so big that she looks like a freaking Hippo!

I never touch my face, I feel it's disgusting to do it in public after having touched many things that have thousands of germs.

I never go into the bathroom barefoot, EVER! I never walk around barefoot.

I take care of my personal belongings to an extend where it's no longer normal

I have a hand fetish, I love hands ( that's very weird I know), I'm just fascinated by them.

I wear sunblock 24/7 (very paranoid about getting skin cancer)

I never like to eat around people I don't know, I feel as if their watching me and I don't like that feeling.

I love mashed potatoes.

I hate shoes and socks, and prefer flipflops or barefoot, but I wear sneakers at work in Florida, and in the winter. The barer the foot, the freer the soul (or sole, whichever you prefer).

I once stayed up 48 hours straight in Florida because I came home from work so late that I didn't see the point of getting two hours of sleep then getting up again to get ready for work.

Depending on how I sleep at night, I'll either not move at all or be all over the place.

I hate getting my hair cut, but I'd rather not be bald, so I often get it cut every 3-4 months instead of every 2 weeks like other people.

I am not as crazy in real life as I seem to be here. I'm even crazier.

*I use to live in California, I'm actually originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin.

*I got a cat named Max.

*I use to ride horses (English hunt seat), but I'm too busy for that and it's expensive.

You guys will never believe this but:

I have an obsession with Disney! I just love everything from their theme parks to animated films to live-action films to history to merchandise etc.

I go to Disneyland at least once every year, I have a big DVD and VHS collection, have Disney merchandise scattered around my house, spend most of my free time on Disney sites or watching Disney stuff and have at least something related to Disney somehow on my mind majority of the time.

I don't know why I said this because I know you will all make fun of me for liking such a thing and I doubt any of you even care about Disney in the slightest, as it's pretty random for this forum huh?

My great-great-great-great grandfather was one of the founders of Sydney's biggest newspapers, The Sydney Morning Herald

My favourite colour is blue.

Redheads are my kryptonite

I have almost every issue of 'Green Arrow' (or major appearance) dating back to the mid-1970s.

I won $1000 for a short screenplay prize in 2006. The short film was screened on Australian TV and the 'net in October this year.

I lost almost 30kg (66 lbs) in 2006.

I enjoy doing impersonations of 1930s news reporters.

One of my favourite bands is You Am I.

I am a vegetarian, but only since 1999.

I could never give up cheese.

Favourite films include Singin' in the Rain, Star Wars, Once Upon a Time in the West and Annie Hall.

I have written 3 feature length screenplays. Only one short I have written has been made (see above).

Contrary to popular belief, I AM wearing pants right now.
