According to Wikipedia (reliability alert!), Hilton will be opening a Waldorf-Astoria hotel (like the famous one in NYC) near WDW in Orlando:

Interesting... will this be the classiest hotel in the area? Doesn't sound like it will be a WDW-affiliated hotel, which means I'm not so interested.

Neither am I. I would like to stay in one of the nicer hotels at WDW someday. But only if its WDW-affiliated because that would be the point of staying there to begin with.AwallaceUNC wrote:

My avatar is from Tony's Town Square Restaurant. What else would we do over a plate of spaghetti with meatballs?

Yeah, without the Disney theming, it seems a little pointless. At least from my point of view.
Besides, some of Disney's hotels are easily 4.5/5 star jobs, so why stay anywhere else, especially when you can stay ON property in something as huge as WDW.
