Disney World Christmas Special on Food Network

Post by Simba3 »

Did anyone catch the "Holidays at Walt Disney World Resorts" special tonight on the Food Network? The special, which was hosted by the Disney channel's very own Raven Symone, showed how the Disney World parks and resorts get ready for the Christmas season. Segments included facts and information on food preparation, park and hotel decorations, the construction of an enormous gingerbread house, ect. I have not yet had the pleasure of experiencing Disney World at Christmas time, so this special was especially great, and informative, for me!!

If you missed this special, here is a list of upcoming replays:
November 26, 2006 1:00 AM ET/PT (in a couple hours for you night owls)
December 02, 2006 5:00 PM ET/PT
December 03, 2006 6:00 PM ET/PT

Thanks for the list! I've seen parts of this before, but I would like to tape it sometime!

I have to admit that I always thought the idea of a Food Network was kinda weird, even though I love to cook and bake, but it has turned out to be a really great network (especially since there is so much garbage on TV nowadays). I really like shows like Good Eats, Iron Chef, Unwrapped, and various others, and anything with Rachael Ray, who I think is a major cutie (especially in her older episodes), ha.

Something about that wedding ring she now wears made her lose something. Not sure what it is but she's definately not as cute anymore.

Also, for those who didn't get to see the Disney Christmas special should definately do so. It was very interesting and Raven was actually pretty good in it.

Ha, yeah. I never noticed it, despite the fact that her hands are two of her best features in my opinion (sounds weird, I know, but I don't like veiny hands or long fingers, she had really nice hands), but I remember the first time she mentioned her husband, that was a little sad, ha. However, I agree that she got a lot less cute recently, and it started with the highlights in the hair. I'm sorry ladies, but streaks of highlights in the hair just make a woman look old.

There was something similar a few years ago on the Travel Channel with the ever-perly Samantha Brown.

Love the gingerbread house!

Will have a hunt about for this one. Thanks for the tip!

i saw both specials (food nw w/raven and travel ch w/samantha) and they were so awesome!!! how they do all of the flowers is amazing and all of the prep months in advance makes it a huge production to put up all of the holiday stuff...my favorites were at i think yacht and beach club resort they have a all molded chocolate model of a carnival incl. a carousel and roller coaster...truly amazing!!! :o

I've seen both specials, too. In the Food Network one, there's this one chef from AKL who made me a special vegan couscous wrap! He was nice. He was the guy who made everything out of chocolate and stuff like that.

I tried to tape the Raven special on Food Network, but I had a problem with the tape (yes, still using tapes, but I don't by new ones anymore, just reusing old ones till they need to be tossed out or are replaced by DVDs). Luckily, I recorded the Samantha Brown one on Travel Channel and that one was more what I was looking for.

Oh my. I tried watching the Disney special with Raven and she completely killed it for me.

She was so cute before..and then I don't really know what happened.
