But I'm adding a few more films to the tradition list that I watched last year like Nightmare Before Christmas, Life of Brian and Polar Express.

all of the Rankin-Bass specials
A Christmas Story
Home Alone
Home Alone 2

The Santa Clause 2
A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Hard Day's Night (not a Christmas movie, but it's a personal tradion)
MST3K episode #321: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
MST3K episode #521: Santa Claus
Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special
It's A Wonderful Life (a given)

A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, Elf (as of two years ago), and I'd like to add A Charlie Brown Christmas to that list.

Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Story
Muppet's Christmas Carol - I missed it last year because I had to work and my family didn't want to wait for me.
Home Alone
Home Alone II: Lost in NY
I bet now we'll watch Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit this year. Even though it's not really affiliated with Christmas.
Patrick Stewart's: A Christmas Carol, my dad recorded that off of TV.

Both versions of Miracle on 34th Street

Both Santa Clause films
Elf
Love Actually
The Polar Express

Winnie the Pooh and Christmas, Too
Any Rankin & Bass special (especially Rudolph and Frosty)

Hmm, here are some I try to watch and how I have them, if I have them...
"A Christmas Story" - One of my fave films in general. I still only have the crappy first DVD release of it though. I have the action figures too. I also love all the other Ralphie movies!
A Charlie Brown Christmas - Probably the best Christmas special ever! Have it in the Peanuts Holiday 3 disc DVD set.
"Elf" - Have the DVD of this one and it is just sooooo good! I'm usually not into Zoey Deschanel (sp?), but she was a total hottie in this!
The Bishop's Wife - I love Cary Grant in black and white! Still need to get this one. Surprisingly, even though I love Crosby and Kaye, I never got much out of the movie "White Christmas." I love the song, but the movie doesn't seem Christmassy enough to me, or even that great.
Raggedy and Andy in the Great Santa Claus Caper - Love this old Chuck Jones Christmas special (and the Halloween one too). Got it on a double feature VHS I picked up used off Ebay. Quality is pretty bad, though it's an official release. Hope they get it out on DVD someday!
Jingle All the Way - I don't have it, but my parents have the VHS, and I live with them. Definitely a fave that I need to pick up myself! We always watch it at my friends' house during our gift exchange party we call "Festivus."
Home Alone 1 and 2 - These are GREAT movies! Still don't have them, but my parents do.
Mickey's Once and Twice Upon a Christmas - I have these on DVD, LOVE them, and wish they'd make more!
Beauty and the Beast, the Enchanted Christmas - This is pretty underrated! Sure, the art isn't on the level of the movie, but it's a great, feature length Christmas Special in my opinion! I have the DVD.
Christmas with the Kranks - My parents have the DVD and we just opened it. I had seen it at the movies though. Pretty underrated. Great flick that I hope to get.
Santa Clause 1 and 2 - I like both of these, but I may be one of the few who prefers part 2. I have 1 on VHS and 2 on DVD. Holding out for a rerelease of the first, hopefully next year.
The Grinch animated AND live-action - Both of these are really magical! Got 'em both on DVD.
It's a Wonderful Life - This might be the best movie ever made! Though, my favorite film is Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This is still a top fave of mine though! Have the old DVD with the extras on the flipside.
Miracle on 34th Street (original) - Fantastic Holiday flick! I still only have it on VHS.
A Christmas Carol, any version - I LOVE this story! It's one of my favorite stories! I have Mickey's Christmas Carol on a couple of DVDs, I have Muppet Christmas Carol on VHS, I have Sabrina the Animated Series: Witchmas Carol on DVD (which I just got), I have the Chuck Jones one (which is wonderful) on VHS, I love the old black and white ones, one of which I have on a cheap DVD (the first talking Scrooge flick)... I even have a crappy Little Orphan Annie 1980's VHS cartoon take on Christmas Carol. Oh, and I have a VHS of the 101 Dalmatians animated series version of the story.
Santa Claus - This is that Mexican film where Santa goes up against Pitch, the devil. Freaky film I picked up on a cheap DVD a couple years ago! LOVE it! Wish I had the MST3K version!
Disney Christmas Collections - Such as A Disney Channel Christmas, and stuff like that. Don't have any myself, though I think my fam has Jiminy Cricket's Christmas Gift on VHS. Actually, I do have one VHS collection of Disney Holiday shorts that I bought for the uncut version of the Night Before Christmas Silly Symphony.
Scrooged - Some of Bill Murray's best stuff! Got it on DVD.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - A total Christmas classic! Still only have the crappy, fullscreen DVD.
Christmas shorts - I have a great VHS of public domain Christmas short films and cartoons! Very cool, retro stuff! Need a DVD.
The Fleischer Rudolph cartoon - I have a DVD of this, I believe, with some other Christmas toons.
Jack Benny Christmas episode - I have a cheap DVD with Holiday episodes of Jack Benny and Red Skelton, and I really like the first episode where Jack goes Christmas shopping.
The Nutcracker Prince - I forget which company made this animated feature, maybe WB, but it's a really nice animated take on the Nutcracker. Got it on DVD at a nice price a couple years ago, though I think it might be fullscreen (I forget).
Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse - I like House of Mouse, so I'm not one of those who complains about their DVDs. I know what to expect.
Small One - Only have the VHS release of this, but it's still the only unaltered version. A totally magical CHristmas classic.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Can't believe I didn't mention these Rankin Bass classics sooner! Definitely top faves of mine! I have a ton of toys from these, too! Always do a Christmas display with them atop our big TV. I still don't have the DVDs, but I think I have Rudolph and Frosty on VHS. I know my parents have them all.
Rankin/Bass Twas the Night Before Christmas - The one about the mice trying to fix the clock. Love it, though I think I only have it recorded.
Ernest Saves Christmas - One of Ernest's best films, though I haven't gotten to watch it in a while because it's one of his few that I don't have.
The Star Wars Holiday Special! - Yes, I watch my crappy VHS recording from Ebay every year! I'm just a huge Star Wars fan, and it's soooo weird!
Garfield Christmas - Garfield is just great. Got the DVD of his holiday specials. Need to get some other Garfield DVDs now!
A Muppet Family Christmas - One of my favorite things the Muppets ever did, mainly because it brings them ALL together, even the Fraggles and Sesame Street gang! However, the releases so far have been horrible edited! I have the horribly edited VHS still, and I'm hoping they release an uncut DVD soon...
Dolly Parton Christmas programs - I'm not a big Dolly fan, but my mother always was, and so I have memories of watching her weird Christmas specials. Two that stand out in my mind are the mock CHristmas Party one and the one that was a movie where she played a Snow White-like character. I think we may have at least the CHristmas Party style special recorded somewhere.
Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Specials - These are actually pretty crappy, but I LOVE his music, especially his Christmas albums. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the newer special on DVD as a gift this year, along with Happy Elf (which I've never seen), but I do wish they'd release the older special on DVD. I never got it when it was on VHS.
One Magic Christmas - My parents have the VHS, I need to get the DVD though. This is a great, if sometimes depressing Christmas classic! Also, I'm totally in love with Elisabeth Harnois now that she's all grown up!
Santa Claus: The Movie - I have the older DVD release of this! It's a fantastic Christmas film about how Santa became Santa, second only to Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
Surviving Christmas - Yeah, this is a Ben Affleck flop, but when we rented it, it actually grew on me with repeat viewings! Looking forward to getting it eventually.
Cartoon Network Classic Christmas Specials - I like to catch various things like Flintstone Christmas Specials, Casper's first Christmas, and stuff like that off Cartoon Network, plus a lot of stuff on Family Channel's 25 Days of Christmas, and stuff Hallmark shows sometimes too. I have SOME of that stuff recorded.
Mr. Willoughby's Christmas Tree - Saw this Henson special, Starring Robert Downey Jr., on Hallmark Channel a few years ago. I think I recorded it and though it was really cute. Hope it eventually comes to DVD.
I do have Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas, but it's the original, edited DVD release, and I have yet to even watch it. Probably this year. They HAVE released an unedited one, finally.
Well, I'm sure I'm forgetting A LOT, but I'll post more later if I remember to.
Also, there are some movies and things that aren't really Christmassy, but are still Christmas traditions for me. Stuff like Coming to America (which I still need to buy), anything Star Wars, the new Phantom of the Opera (need the DVD), the Blue Collar Comedy Tour stuff (gotta get some of this too...), and many others. I'm not sure where Gremlins fits in, but I love that movie. Have it on VHS.
Ah, yes, almost forgot, certain Winnie the Pooh films. Though, I only have about half his DVD releases. Some stuff I have on VHS only still, like Seasons of Giving.

We harldy ever watch movies at Christmas, I'm too busy spending time with my family, playing in the pool with family members my age, playing rugby, soccer (In Australia Christmas is in Summer
) So movies have never been a tradition.
However, one CD has, one CD to rule them all
...Every year my mum plays Anne Murray or something...and the other day, I went into the Kitchen, opened one of the higher cupboards and saw 4 extra copies of the CD.

However, one CD has, one CD to rule them all

The Santa Clause
Rakin/Bass's Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Rakin/Bass's Frosty the Snowman and other specials
A Disney Channel Christmas (My mother's friend taped that one back in the summer in 1996, which it is supposed to be Christmas in July. Plus, the quality of the video is still good as ever from 10 years ago!)
Home Alone I and II
The Nutcracker Prince
Mickey's Christmas Carol
A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Story
Hannna-Barbera Christmas Specials
A Chipmunk Christmas
Disney Holiday shorts
Other Classic Holiday shorts
Rocko's Modern Life Christmas Special
Other Specials that I've seen as a child, but not seen it in years:
Raggedy Anne and Andy in the Great Santa Claus Caper - I do adore this special but I'm really hoping that this special and the Halloween special will be released on DVD soon or else, I'm gone crazy.
A Family Circus Christmas - Same goes to "Great Santa Claus Caper".

Oh, I forgot "The Christmas Toy!" It's a Jim Henson program about toys coming to life. Kermit just comes out in the beginning and end to introduce the special. My parents have the VHS. I need to get it, but wish it would get a DVD release first.
I haven't picked up the Muppet Christmas Movie yet either. I remember seeing that on TV and liked everything EXCEPT Whoopi Goldberg playing God. That's such a Hollywood thing to do, and I think if Whoopi was God, I'd rather go to Hell, ha. I'm sorry, I can only take her in small doses, and the thought of her as God is just sickening. But, more than that, what hurt the film was that her scenes were in this springtime field. I get the idea, but it would take you out of the Christmassy feel of the rest of the story. That was the biggest problem I had with that flick, though I liked the rest of it. Certainly was mostly better than the travesty that was Muppet Wizard of Oz (which could have been great with SEVERAL changes, and if they had shelled out the dough for Hilary Duff).
